Coordination between the different contractors could have been better. E.g. getting siding and repairs completed before installing gutters. Took longer than I had hoped.
In general, very good. I would recommend.
My wife and I are very pleased with the results and we have received several compliments from our neighbors. I would definitely hire Painting Plus again for exterior painting and/or gutter replacement services!
This job was a two day job that was extremely simple and should not have had any issues or problems. It was scheduled weeks out with a materials delivery date and a start date. I had to call the day before the job to confirm that materials were being delivered that day and the start date was still set for the following morning. The project manager told me the crew would be ready to start the job on time the following morning. The materials were delivered at 8:30am on the day of the job but I got a call from the project manager telling me that he sent his crew on another job because he wasn't sure the materials would be there. The materials were specifically delivered early that morning so they could be there for the job and if the project manager would have called me to confirm instead of pushing my job off for another job that day, the work would have been done. I was told that the crew would definitely be ready the next morning to do the work. So, the next morning I received a text front he project manager telling me that because of the chance or rain they might have to put the work off another day. The chance of rain was 20% for that day and it was blue skies and sunny that morning and all day. The excuses were just unacceptable and inconsiderate of my time. I decided to push back and told the project manager that this was unacceptable and the job needed to start that day. I did not get a reply so I called the main office after a couple hours. Apparently, his crew was on another job and he was with a customer and that's why I had not received a call back. I was told by the receptionist that he would have a crew out that day.
The crew came out later that day and installed the two new pillars and the new mull casing at my front door. I had already taken my storm door off for them. The materials that were used for the mull casing looked horrible. Our front door is a decorative front door with decorative wood trim including the old mull casings. The material used to replace them were cement fiber board that looked like they were cut with a dull saw blade. I was definitely unhappy with the look. I texted the project manager that evening telling him we had a small issue with the door and I would like him to come by the next day and take a look and discuss the issue. He then wanted to go back and forth, first on text and then on two different calls to tell us that the work that was done was correct and that's the material they use. Basically, he didn't want come out to our house to look at the work or to hear a word we said and he did not seem care that the work and materials looked cheap. I'll have to say that I've never had a contractor infuriate me like this guy did. I was so angry with the lack of respect, the lack of customer service and his arrogance that I lost my temper with him on the phone. He actually said to me, "do you know who I am and who you are dealing with". I'm still baffled by that comment. He was either once famous or he's part of some Atlanta contractors mob...who knows!!
After a very long conversation, he agreed to replace the cement fiber board with real wood. The finished look is acceptable but not impressive for the money we spent. I would recommend reading all the reviews on this company good and bad and make your own decision. You'll get a feel for them with that. Every company claims to value their customers and claims they pride themselves on quality work. I received no customer service, no pride in quality of work or finished product with this project manager and he is the face of the company for us. We never did receive a follow-up call to inquire if we were happy with the final outcome. In the end, we were left feeling that our job was just too small for this gentleman to put any investment in it other than the original estimate. We will be looking elsewhere for our window replacement project.

"We take pride in working for homeowners and treat my clients like family. Jeremy met with Mr. and Mrs. [removed member name] several times regarding they projects, and feel as if I did build a good working relationship with them. Regarding their project, we replaced their roof, we installed Hardie shake siding on the front of their home, replaced all of the soffit and fascia around the entire home, replaced louver vents on both ends of house, and we installed new gutters. It was a large project and I was on a good working relationship with Mr. [removed member name] during the entire project. We did have several issues come up. A nail from the roofing phase found its way into his tire, and Mr. [removed member name] took the car, got It fixed, and we deducted that from the final bill. Most importantly, they made it very clear that they had a plant that was left by a family member, and had sentimental value. We took all precautions necessary to keep the plant from getting damaged. Towards the end of the project, because the plant was not planted in the ground, one of our crew members moved the plant out of harms way, and the roots were in the ground and were damaged. He didn’t realize it had roots in the ground, because it was still in a pot. When this was brought to my attention, a certain amount was asked for, because of the plant being damaged. I didn’t know if the plant would die or survive, so we decided to wait and see. I told him to call me if he needed me for anything… regarding this or any touch ups that we may have missed… I only recently, after the bad review was posted, was informed about the plant not surviving and us not cleaning the yard, the project closed out almost 6 months ago. It’s unfortunate that sometimes, doing what we do in this industry, we can’t always solve a problem or ‘fix it’ or ‘make it right’. Customer relationships are something I personally take very seriously, because everything is built off of that… I called Mr. [removed member name] immediately after being informed of this review and ask if we could make this up to them, and he said there is nothing we could do. He said we can’t replace something that can’t be replaced. He was very stern about this, and I understand that this plant was something that a loved one left to them, and I am truly sorry for this situation happening. I wish I could solve this problem. I wish they would give me the opportunity to make this right.. Mr. [removed member name] said there was nothing I could do. Mr. and Mrs. [removed member name] were great to work for, and I am truly sorry that this happened, it was not from lack of caring or not trying to protect their plants. We did our best and it was an accident, no excuse, just the truth. Regarding the cleanup, I am attaching pictures , ~a before picture, ~a picture of where the dumpster was after the roof was replaced ~and a final picture when the job was being punched out. As you can see the yard looks the same in all of the pictures during the project. I really am sorry for the loss, and I will make all efforts to keep this from happening again to any of our future clients… Sincerely, Jeremy Coates Senior Estimator Sales Consultant Charlie Dallavalle CEO"
