I inherited a 30 year old Howard Miller grandfather clock from my mother. The manufacturer and their authorized service dealers recommend that the movement be lubricated and serviced every two years. I'm positive that the clock was never serviced in the 30 years that my mother had it. 
Bill made an appointment to come out at 7:30 AM on a Tuesday before he opened his shop. He was right on time. He walked me through all of the steps of the service and my options. He dismantled the face and cleaned and lubricated everything, then put it back together and set it. He also gave me advice on caring for and setting it. Very knowledgeable and patient. It's been two weeks since he left and after a couple of minor adjustments to the pendulum, it's keeping perfect time!  (+/- 30 seconds every 7 days, which I believe with a few more tweaks I can get down even further.)

The overall experience was excellent. They arrived on time (actually, about 10 minutes early), and evaluated the clock quickly. Then, he presented me with three options: (1) lube the works and see if it will run for a while; (2) rebuild the existing works, or (3)replace the works with a kit designed for that purpose. I chose to see if we could get the clock to operate with its existing mechanisms, and so far it is doing fine. Also, the repairman who came to my home was VERY knowledgeable about clocks. He was immediately able to tell me a great deal of history about this clock, and the fact that the Emperor kits were popular 30 years ago. He also educated me on the various chimes, and provided a primer on the operation of the clock. I highly recommend this company.

I was given Bill's name and number by the moving company in Ohio. I called in the morning and left a message and my call was returned within a couple of hours. We set up an appointment which he was relatively on time for (he took a couple of wrong turns, but called to let me know where he was). He walked me through everything he did, was very pleasant and informative. I will use them for regular servicing in the future.

WE USED OLD CLOCKS TO CLEAN AND ADJUST A SLIGH PENDULUM CLOCK. TOOK A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO GET BACK, BUT IT RUNS SMOOTH NOW.
