"I’m sorry that you feel this way about the quality service we provided for you and your husband. We were in communication with your husband every step of the way and communicated what the different expenses were going to be and what for. We had to search for your transmission part because parts for your Saturn are very hard to come by since the car has been discontinued. We ended up finding the part in California and communicated about the delay in getting it. In regards to the Angie’s List coupon, you had used a $150 off coupon earlier in the repairs and it saved you more than the Angie’s List Coupon would have."
I dropped my truck off at Mr. Transmission (1000 Cobb Pkwy SE Marietta, GA) on 12-29-16 to let them check it out for minor symptoms. Alan Polson called me a few hours later after they closed while I was at work and requested a credit card number as a hold. I asked Alan if there was a problem with my vehicle, Alan said he didn’t know what the problem was yet because they had not pulled the transmission, but said he wanted to save me money by charging me a flat rate for labor after they figure out the problem. Alan then apparently charged my credit card $998 on 12-29-15 without inspecting my transmission or telling me if anything was wrong with it. After diagnosing the transmission and radiator on 12-31-15, Mgr. Josh Henson called and told me that a pinched wiring harness from the previous transmission job shorted out my TCM (computer) and all the electronics in my transmission causing the damage of $2121.07. Josh specifically told me the radiator was not the cause of damage to my transmission, and they were going to put an OEM transmission rebuild kit in my truck this time. I called the shop on 1-7-16 and spoke with Mgr. Josh Henson to request an OEM radiator be installed in the truck as an additional part to match my OEM transmission kit and replace the aftermarket radiator installed in 2014 from the previous transmission rebuild. This was clearly understood that the radiator was not required to repair my transmission according to the original and only diagnosis on 12-31-15. On 1-16-16 I arrive unannounced at Mr. Transmission and was advised by Alan Polson that the 2014 aftermarket radiator caused the damages to my transmission and that would void my warranty. This was completely different from the diagnosis presented to me by Josh Henson on 12-31-15. I immediately requested Allan give me the 2014 radiator and he declined. My check engine light came on the very next day after getting my vehicle from the shop. I have no receipt of work done or warranty for current charges $3855.22. The workmanship and parts of the current transmission rebuild has been proven faulty and my vehicle is still in need of repairs. Alan Polson has a laundry list of court cases in Gwinnett County for transmission related disputes (aprx: 40). See link to review cases and search by party name Alan Polson [*** Link removed ***] any help will be greatly appreciated.
"When decided not to not hire this individual to perform services for us when we bought out Mr Transmission of Marietta. He was employed by the old owner. We asked to remove this review but cannot as we never employed him. Please call us for quality service at a fair price."
My daughter called on Friday July 31 to make an appointment for the following Monday August 3, 2015 and the person she talked to said just to bring it by and that it wouldn't take very long. So no appointment, when we got there on Monday they were busy and we told them what we wanted done with the car. We showed them the coupon which states a fluid change, filter change a new pan gasket if required and full diagnostic check. When the person at the counter saw the coupon he went into the back to talk with a manager, we assume. He said we would have to leave the car over night because they were to busy and that they would get to it tomorrow morning. They said it would be done by 12:00 noon. We got there about 1:00 P.M. and a guy handed us the key and said we could take the car. When my daughter asked for a service receipt stating what was done for her records the person said we would not get one because it was a free coupon. She replied I want to know what was done to her car so she will have a record of the service. The man got perturbed and said the paperwork was behind and that he would email a receipt to her. When she got into the car which she had previously filled up with gas there was only 2 1/2 miles on it and that was the amount of mileage when she dropped the car off. If they did service the car they didn't test drive the car after it was serviced. She did get an email with a receipt stating that a transmission service was preformed but that is all what it said. No notation of what transmission fluid was used or filter. Cars require a specific transmission fluid and if an incorrect fluid was to be used it would mess up the transmission. When we got home we told my husband about the situation and that we did not think the car had been serviced. He called Mr. Transmission and asked for the manager. When the manager got on the phone my husband reminded him of the car and service. He then asked what fluid was used and the manager couldn't name it, "what ever is appropriate for the car." When asked if the filter was changed he said no without explaining why the old filter was not renewed. The manager was rude to us when we were there and was rude on the phone. We are not entirely sure what service was provided by Mr. Transmission, and find it highly unusual that no documentation was provided. It is our understanding that documentation describing work performed is pro-form in all service industries. Documentation is an important aspect of car ownership, and Mr. Transmission provides no support in that area.
Dropped my car at mr transmission on July 6, 2015, after he diagnosed my car, he Initially quoted me $598 flat for the labor and he said I only need snap ring and wave plates for an additional $75 for parts, he called me on July 7, 2015 saying my quote has doubled to $1400, because I needed molded pistons and solenoid pack, went to his shop we argued for an hour or so, Alan at mr transmission told me if I needed my car back without repair he will still charge me $598 for the labor without my car being fixed. I was tired plus I use my car for my business needed to work we settled on a new price of $1300 parts and labor, Wednesday afternoon got a call that my car was fixed, I came to the shop, Mr. Alan won't let me test drive my own car or even sit behind the driver seat I asked why? No response from him, all he said I have a warranty, I said ok, I paid what I owed Mr Transmission, took my car, after I drove my car for under 100 miles, check engine light came on, and my car started doing the same thing it was doing when I initially took it to Mr transmission. I brought the car back to Mr Transmission on Thursday 9, 2015 with a full tank of gas, called Alan on Friday someone hang up on me, decided to go physically to the shop, Mr Alan told me "The car is not ready, it needs more testing, he doesn't know what's wrong with it", he kept my car for 7 days no one called me during this period, I went on Wednesday afternoon July 15, 2015, Mr Alan told me that the problem was a defective solenoid pack that someone might have dropped, so he replaced it, I asked Mr Alan twice, "is my car now fixed?" He replied twice, "the car drives good, with no engine light on."
They used up my full gas of tank about 17 gallons, I asked Mr Alan about that, he said they were testing my van, they drove it for 300 miles, there was a foul smell, mud inside my car, grease inside all over, the roof, door panels seat belt, Huge mud spots.
Anyways started using my car on Friday 19, of July 2015. I drove my car for 78.6 miles then check engine was lit, started doing the same thing I initially took it for. Took it to couple of mechanics they said that my Transmission has never been worked on internally or been taken out except for the solenoid pack.
Well this is my experience with Alan at Mr Transmission, any help will be appreciated
Very professional and would not hesitate to use again.
I would highly recommend Vic and his crew at Mr. Transmission of Marietta to anyone. And I would not hesitate to use him again should my wife's car need service.
"The reason the price was $2400 was because of the electrical issue. $1200-$2400 does not include taxes or electronics. Due to customer satisfaction the price was reduced $500 and the nationwide warranty was reduced to this center only to help lower the price to help the customer."
Bottom line - shop performs transmission work, does perform work promised, when promised and for the cost estimated - but may result in new issues and you are on your own there.
The diagnostics, repair, time and costs went exactly as stated/estimated. Tim, who is the service manager, was very informative and polite. The shop's owner provided me a ride to work after I dropped off my truck. In addition to the repair, Tim provided information about additonal trouble codes identified when doing their diagnostics and told me what I needed to do to repair them since they focus on transmissions only.. The transmission appears to be working great and the shop even did a courtesy replacement of an air flow sensor since I had the part with me when I picked up the truck. Great service!
