Where to start here....I would give 0 stars if possible. While trying to get a Honda transmission worked on here, they had the car for over a month and the price always changed. Prior work had already been done, but we were manipulated into complete rebuild. We were ridiculed in the lobby in front of others and lied to many times. Once the car was finally ready, we immediately encountered issues on the drive home. Upon further findings, the owner Alan Polson, is known to do shady business. I even discovered from another local shop in the area that he has already been shut down once before at the Buford location for similar acts. I have contacted local news business since he was already a part of a Channel 2 undercover investigation a few years back. Moran Indusstries corporate office has been contacted and notified. Ended up having to take this to another shop and the issue is still not resolved. BBB and FTC have been contacts as well!

I would rate a ZERO if I could. Fraudulent business and horrible customer service. Take your car here if you want to be tricked into getting your car fixed by them and get yelled at every time you call them! I started a long review with details but Yelp wouldn’t take it once it got over 2 pages. Here’s the short version: Quoted low repair price to get approval and agreed to have it ready when I told them I needed it. Charged the labor up front (who pays for work before the job gets done???). Cost of repair went up by +$1k when it was time to do the work. Hadn’t even looked at the car on day they agreed to have it ready. Now it’s going to take 5 days longer than promised. It’s MY fault I mis-heard. Never took responsibility of mis-communication. Rude, argumentative, yelling (ALAN). Car’s transmission fails 2 days after pick up. Later find that 'a clip' wasn't put in properly and caused the whole issue. Car’s fixed in 1 day and so far running well. 2 weeks later, find they had charged MY card and my wife’s card for the full amount. We did ask them to swap cards but they never disclosed the original had been charged (who pays for work before the job gets done???). Leave voicemail to call me back 1st thing Monday…of course they didn’t. After I call back, receptionist blames my wife for not telling me they charged both my cards (really lady???). Josh calls me back later after hours and since they couldn’t do anything then, asks me to check my statement again and call Wednesday. I tell him I won’t do that since it’s they’re problem to fix. He promises to call me on Tuesday after he figures out what’s going on…of course he didn’t. Receive call Thursday morning from Alan after he received a call from my CC company about my attempt to dispute the charge. Ends up yelling at me for not being patient. The credit request had been put in, therefore it had been resolved. Did I really have to explain to him that it wouldn’t be resolved until the credit showed in my account??? Apparently that was asking too much. Gets angry and yells some more because I’m being difficult. Hangs up on me when I start telling him how horrible a business he runs. So, here I am on Yelp. Not trustworthy business. Horrible customer service. Will blame you for anything they do wrong. My next call will be BBB.

would give no stars if I could... absolute worst service I have seen in 26 years of living.. we had my fiancee's car towed here back in July 2018... it's Novemeber 12 and we are just now picking it up. So it took a transmission "specialist" 4 months to rebuild a transmission? I dont think so. They also don't return phone calls or give you an update on your car.. everytime we tried to contact somebody they were extremely rude and had some dumb excuse as to why his car wasn't ready .. we waited 5 weeks for them to "test drive" his car. Now we have been sitting here for over 2 hours to get his keys and sign off that we are picking it up. Janine is a complete nut.. I just watched her freak out and yell at a customer . Somebody had to come running out to remind her not not talk to people that way . Obviously this is a reoccurring problem and she needs to go. Also , at the beginning of all this nonsense, they gave us a price and then called and demanded more money. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here ...this has been a complete

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! These people will try to cheat you in whichever way they can. Alan, told me $1400-1950 for repair and in 3 days to get it back, dropped off that day with the promise of a quick repair. Alan called and stated I need other parts not related to transmission repair. Must be making profits on selling CVC torque converters? Ended up paying $2850 just so I can get my car out. Alan screamed at me on the phone when I was coming to pick up my car when promised and told me his expert crew needed more time. Picked up my car and steering off 30 degree and wobbled like it had been in a car accident. Had to spend money renting a car and getting other repairs done that the transmission repair created – spent another $966 on those repairs and asked for restitution from the shop and never heard another word. I had to call and write complaint to BBB and call my CC Company to cease all payments. Do not go here – read the other complaints this business has had the same complaints and this is not new problem for them. I am just another person taken and scammed by Mr. Transmission and Alan and team.

They like to lure you in with a low price, I was given an estimate of $1500-$1800 depending upon parts that needed to be replaced. Total project to repair transmission was $3000. They agreed to replace engine and transmission mounts for parts cost only - that was fair. Overall pricing wasn't bad, but had I known it was going that high I would have stuck with dealer installed tranny. However, quality and customer service are very bad. It took about three weeks to get the work done and consistently missed communicated completion dates. Furthermore, they often didn't return calls even having left several messages a day. About 1.5 months after service, car wouldn't start due to the fact that the power cable to the starter had not been properly reinstalled. Alan ( probably the rudest person at the shop) refused to send a tow truck to get the car. So, I had the car towed to the acura dealership at my own expense and had it diagnosed. The Acura dealership identified the no start issue and the fact that one of the engine mounts were bad. Also, was making noise from transmission. So, I paid my diagnose fee and called Mr. Transmission. Josh agreed to send tow truck to get my car and make needed repairs. It took them NEARLY ONE WEEK to get the car towed - the dealership was 2 miles from their shop. They fixed the power cable, they fixed the motor mount, they said the noise was "likely:" a power steering pump. Okay. Car comes back and runs for 2.5 months. Son drives car to South Carolina for weekend trip , transmission goes out. Had to leave the car at Mr. Transmission of Charleston, rent a car and return a few weeks later . Issue was a defective solenoid. About a month later, the car has to be returned to Mr. Transmission Marietta as the transmission light is on again. The keep the car nearly a month + a week, don't return calls, don't take calls, etc.... The issue was with the cars computer communication with the rebuilt trans. We finally get that resolved in time for my son to come home after graduation - I sell the car. The moral of this story is: Don't rebuild a transmission, by a remanufactured one. Rebuilt is only as good as the tech and they don't replace the parts that they deem in good condition. Mr.Trans of Marrietta has very poor customer service and very poor attitude.

NEVER give them your credit card. They KEEP them on "FILE" and use them whenever they want. WITHOUT customer authorization or approval. That means that they can steal all the money from your bank without your knowledge or max out your credit WITHOUT your knowledge. They also said they WOULD NOT take Angie's list coupons because since THEY charge you up front before work or parts are ordered, you have to give them coupons beforehand. NEVER have I been to a business who charged BEFORE work was done and I could OK what happened. I am filing with the BBB and also looking up the GA statues into car repair to file with the Attorney General. I NEVER want anyone else to have this happen.
Response from Mr Transmission of Marietta
"I’m sorry that you feel this way about the quality service we provided for you and your husband. We were in communication with your husband every step of the way and communicated what the different expenses were going to be and what for. We had to search for your transmission part because parts for your Saturn are very hard to come by since the car has been discontinued. We ended up finding the part in California and communicated about the delay in getting it. In regards to the Angie’s List coupon, you had used a $150 off coupon earlier in the repairs and it saved you more than the Angie’s List Coupon would have."

I dropped my truck off at Mr. Transmission (1000 Cobb Pkwy SE Marietta, GA) on 12-29-16 to let them check it out for minor symptoms. Alan Polson called me a few hours later after they closed while I was at work and requested a credit card number as a hold. I asked Alan if there was a problem with my vehicle, Alan said he didn’t know what the problem was yet because they had not pulled the transmission, but said he wanted to save me money by charging me a flat rate for labor after they figure out the problem. Alan then apparently charged my credit card $998 on 12-29-15 without inspecting my transmission or telling me if anything was wrong with it. After diagnosing the transmission and radiator on 12-31-15, Mgr. Josh Henson called and told me that a pinched wiring harness from the previous transmission job shorted out my TCM (computer) and all the electronics in my transmission causing the damage of $2121.07. Josh specifically told me the radiator was not the cause of damage to my transmission, and they were going to put an OEM transmission rebuild kit in my truck this time. I called the shop on 1-7-16 and spoke with Mgr. Josh Henson to request an OEM radiator be installed in the truck as an additional part to match my OEM transmission kit and replace the aftermarket radiator installed in 2014 from the previous transmission rebuild. This was clearly understood that the radiator was not required to repair my transmission according to the original and only diagnosis on 12-31-15. On 1-16-16 I arrive unannounced at Mr. Transmission and was advised by Alan Polson that the 2014 aftermarket radiator caused the damages to my transmission and that would void my warranty. This was completely different from the diagnosis presented to me by Josh Henson on 12-31-15.  I immediately requested Allan give me the 2014 radiator and he declined. My check engine light came on the very next day after getting my vehicle from the shop. I have no receipt of work done or warranty for current charges $3855.22. The workmanship and parts of the current transmission rebuild has been proven faulty and my vehicle is still in need of repairs. Alan Polson has a laundry list of court cases in Gwinnett County for transmission related disputes (aprx: 40). See link to review cases and search by party name Alan Polson [*** Link removed ***] any help will be greatly appreciated.

When i initially called and the owner answered the phone and was very patient and knowledgeable. I asked lots of questions and he took the time to answer all of them. The owner would get my in as soon as i could get there and diagnosis the problem for free. When i arrived the next day the staff was super friendly and had the problems diagnosed within 30 minutes. They ordered the parts and gave a discount for me being a Angie's List member. My vehicle was ready the next day. Everyone was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable.

The car that was to be serviced is a 2002 Subaru Outback.
My daughter called on  Friday July 31 to make an appointment for the following Monday August 3, 2015 and the person she talked to said just to bring it by and that it wouldn't take very long. So no appointment, when we got there on Monday they were busy and we told them what we wanted done with the car. We showed them the coupon which states a fluid change, filter change a new pan gasket if required and full diagnostic check. When the person at the counter saw the coupon he went into the back to talk with a manager, we assume. He said we would have to leave the car over night because they were to busy and that they would get to it tomorrow morning. They said it would be done by 12:00 noon. We got there about 1:00 P.M. and a guy handed us the key and said we could take the car. When my daughter asked for a service receipt stating what was done for her records the person said we would not get one because it was a free coupon. She replied I want to know what was done to her car so she will have a record of the service. The man got perturbed and said the paperwork was behind and that he would email a receipt to her. When she got into the car which she had previously filled up with gas there was only 2 1/2 miles on it and that was the amount of mileage when she dropped the car off. If they did service the car they didn't test drive the car after it was serviced. She did get an email with a receipt stating that a transmission service was preformed but that is all what it said.  No notation of what transmission fluid was used or filter. Cars require a specific transmission fluid and if an incorrect fluid was to be used it would mess up the transmission. When we got home we told my husband about the situation and that we did not think the car had been serviced. He called Mr. Transmission and asked for the manager. When the manager got on the phone my husband reminded him of the car and service. He then asked what fluid was used and the manager couldn't name it, "what ever is appropriate for the car."  When asked if the filter was changed he said no without explaining why the old filter was not renewed. The manager was rude to us when we were there and was rude on the phone. We are not entirely sure what service was provided by Mr. Transmission, and find it highly unusual that no documentation was provided. It is our understanding that documentation describing work performed is pro-form in all service industries. Documentation is an important aspect of car ownership, and Mr. Transmission provides no support in that area.

I own a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan that I use for my business.
Dropped my car at mr transmission on July 6, 2015, after he diagnosed my car, he Initially quoted me $598 flat for the labor and he said I only need snap ring and wave plates for an additional $75 for parts, he called me on July 7, 2015 saying my quote has doubled to $1400, because I needed molded pistons and solenoid pack, went to his shop we argued for an hour or so, Alan at mr transmission told me if I needed my car back without repair he will still charge me $598 for the labor without my car being fixed. I was tired plus I use my car for my business needed to work we settled on a new price of $1300 parts and labor, Wednesday afternoon got a call that my car was fixed, I came to the shop, Mr. Alan won't let me test drive my own car or even sit behind the driver seat I asked why? No response from him, all he said I have a warranty, I said ok, I paid what I owed Mr Transmission, took my car, after I drove my car for under 100 miles, check engine light came on, and my car started doing the same thing it was doing when I initially took it to Mr transmission. I brought the car back to Mr Transmission on Thursday 9, 2015 with a full tank of gas, called Alan on Friday someone hang up on me, decided to go physically to the shop, Mr Alan told me "The car is not ready, it needs more testing, he doesn't know what's wrong with it", he kept my car for 7 days no one called me during this period, I went on Wednesday afternoon July 15, 2015, Mr Alan told me that the problem was a defective solenoid pack that someone might have dropped, so he replaced it, I asked Mr Alan twice, "is my car now fixed?" He replied twice, "the car drives good, with no engine light on."
They used up my full gas of tank about 17 gallons, I asked Mr Alan about that, he said they were testing my van, they drove it for 300 miles, there was a foul smell, mud inside my car, grease inside all over, the roof, door panels seat belt, Huge mud spots.
Anyways started using my car on Friday 19, of July 2015. I drove my car for 78.6 miles then check engine was lit, started doing the same thing I initially took it for. Took it to couple of mechanics they said that my Transmission has never been worked on internally or been taken out except for the solenoid pack.
Well this is my experience with Alan at Mr Transmission, any help will be appreciated

I took my 2007 Ford Expedition to the shop after doing some research and fully expected to need a rebuilt transmission.  They drove it and noticed the shutter but were not sure it was the transmission.  After pulling the pan, the tech said the transmission looked good and that the shutter was likely due to either spark plugs, coils or both.  They suggested replacing the plugs to see if that fixed the problem.  I asked if it made sense to just go ahead and do the coils as well but they suggested holding off in case the plugs were the cause.  That didn't make a lot of sense to me since the shutter did not seem to happen based on the RPM or load on the motor, but only when shifting between 3rd and 4th gear.  However, I followed their advice and after replacing the plugs, the problem went away.  The tech said he had seen dozens of these and he was fairly sure it was the plugs.  The total expense is high for what ultimately resolved the problem, but they also serviced the transmission and not only did I avoid the expense of a rebuilt transmission, I also avoided what would have been an unnecessary $300+ if they replaced the coils.
Very professional and would not hesitate to use again.

My transmission went out on me near Town Center Mall.  I had my car towed to my dealership.  They charged me over a $100 to "look at it".  One hour after they got the car they called to tell me that the transmission would have to be replaced with a new one for a cost over $4500.00.  I seriously questioned how much they actually "looked at" my car in an hour to come to the decision that I needed a brand new transmission at that price.  I found Mr. Transmission of Marietta online.  I looked at reviews on Angie's List and another site and decided to give them a try.  My communication was with Vic and he was highly knowledgeable, professional and polite. He told me right up front that it would take them 24 hours to look at my car, not the 1 hour that the dealership took.  The next day Vic told me what they found, what needed to be fixed and what needed to be replaced.  Vic kept me informed during the whole repair process and brought it in at $1000 under the cost the dealership wanted.  I have since driven the car several hundred miles, including an out of state trip, and it drives like a new car. And this is a car that is 10 years old with over 150,000 miles on it.
I would highly recommend Vic and his crew at Mr. Transmission of Marietta to anyone.  And I would not hesitate to use him again should my wife's car need service.

"The reason the price was $2400 was because of the electrical issue. $1200-$2400 does not include taxes or electronics. Due to customer satisfaction the price was reduced $500 and the nationwide warranty was reduced to this center only to help lower the price to help the customer."

Recently I had the 120,000 mile maintenance performed on my 2001 Honda Accord at Honda Carland North. While waiting on my car the service depart. rep told me that I needed a new transmission. I was surprised because I thought my car drove fine. I was suspect and decided to think about it. I went to Angie's List to check for a company that specializes in transmissions and found Mr. Transmission of Marietta. I read the reviews, visited their website and decided to bring my vehicle to them. The owner was great - very informative and helpful. After little over an hour I was informed that there was nothing wrong with my transmission and was told that even the transmission fluid was clean (Honda Carland North said it was not). I was able to speak with the mechanic and he said there was nothing wrong with my car and wanted to know why I brought it in. Mr. Transmission offers diagnostic testing at no charge and testing performed on my car did not cost me anything. I would recommend them to anyone and did so to my brother for his Honda Accord.

Recently I had taken my 2001 Honda Accord to Honda Carland North for routine maintenance for 120,000 miles. While waiting for my car the service dept. rep informed me that I needed a new transmission. I was a little surprised because I thought the car drove fine. He could not tell me how long my current transmission would last and quoted me several prices based on how long of a warranty I wanted. I decided I wanted to think about it. I'm glad I did! I went to Angie's List to find a reputable auto service shop that specialized in transmissions. I found Mr. Transmission of Marietta, read the reviews and decided to bring my vehicle here. They offer diagnostic tests, at no charge, to determine what the issues are with the transmission. After little more than an hour I was informed that there was nothing wrong with my transmission. Even the transmission fluid was clean (the service dept. rep at the dealership said it was not). The owner was very honest and told me that he could not sell me something that I did not need. He also informed me that Honda rebuilt transmissions come with a 12 month warranty. He confirmed what my brother told me the other day and that is service dept. reps work on commission which is something I did not know. I also had the opportunity to speak with the service technician who actually test my car. He wanted to know what happened and said there was nothing wrong with my car. I have already recommended Mr. Transmission of Marietta to my brother for his Honda Accord. I recommend this place to you if you are in need of a new transmission.

I was in a parking lot, getting ready to park when my vehicle would not go into reverse.  Limped the vehicle home and searched Angie's List.  Found Mr. Transmissions close by (relatively) and they offered to send a tow service to bring my vehicle in.  After 1 day (as promised) Mr. Transmissions called with a recommendation for a transmission repair and a range of cost I could anticipate.  Repair was completed within time frame promised, and within the range of cost estimated.  I drove the vehicle the next day and could hear noises - creaking, squeaking? Hard to describe. Not really engine noises, but coming from the engine area...Took my vehicle back to Mr. Transmissions the following afternoon and they drove it around - said they did not hear anything coming from the engine area, did not think it was a transmission related issue - but they went ahead and put my vehicle back up on the rack and told me they thought the fuel pump was making noises and could be a sign it was going bad (coming from the rear - not under the hood area).  At the same time, I also noticed the air conditioning had stopped working.  I called my personal mechanic to fix the air (not related) and get his sense of what the unexplained noise was about.  My mechanic found a cracked motor mount (completely visible with hood up) and noticed the noise I described when driving - diagnosed the "new" noise as a result of the broken mount, which he thinks was caused by Mr. Transmissions. i.e.- lowering/pulling the transmission for repair, the engine should be supported. W/o adequate support, result = broken motor mount.  Repair since completed by my mechanic on the motor mount and vehicle operates in all gears. The transmission services performed by Mr. Transmissions include a warranty, so I will continue to use Mr. Transmissions for any transmission related work within the warranty period.  My mechanic felt that I should make Mr. Transmissions pay for the motor mount repair (under $200.00), but I was not going back to Mr. Transmissions for this. I think Mr. Transmissions should have caught the motor mount issue the first time I brought it back, so I would anticipate getting a "he said-she said" argument about it.  I just wanted the mount fixed right, and by someone competent, ergo, my mechanic fixed it and I paid for it.
Bottom line - shop performs transmission work, does perform work promised, when promised and for the cost estimated - but may result in new issues and you are on your own there.

I used Angie's list to look for recommendations for a transmission repair.  I new it would most likely be costly and wanted to be careful about who I used.  After identifying Mr Transmission of Marietta, it turns out to be the same shop I had used about 15 years and a couple of  out of state moves ago.  I was very happy then and it was good to see their reputation stay intact even thorugh a change of ownership.
The diagnostics, repair, time and costs went exactly as stated/estimated.  Tim, who is the service manager, was very informative and polite.  The shop's owner provided me a ride to work after I dropped off my truck.  In addition to the repair, Tim provided information about additonal trouble codes identified when doing their diagnostics and told me what I needed to do to repair them since they focus on transmissions only..  The transmission appears to be working great and the shop even did a courtesy replacement of an air flow sensor since I had the part with me when I picked up the truck.  Great service!
