Level Lawns

Destroyed my lawn! I have owned the property for 3 years. First two I
used a local contractor who did a good job but was unreliable. In any
case the first two springs the lawn came up very green and lush. This
last fall I was having issues scheduling with my local contractor and so
I saw and advertisement for Level Lawns in my mail here in Virginia and
decided to try them out to simply aerate. I foolishly let them sell me
the service of spreading some calcium sulfate to help break up the
clay soil so more water and nutrients could reach the roots of the
grass. Well the person who came did a sloppy job of aerating. Ripped up
parts of the grass with the machine in some areas other areas were
missed completely. All I can say is thank goodness they guy missed areas
cause as it turn out those are the only spots were the grass grew in
like the previous two springs. All other areas because of either the
horrible aerating or the application of calcium sulfate they put
down turned brown and the brown areas grew in to this spring. Now I am
faced with trying to do what ever possible to fix my lawn front and back
because I have a pretty strict HOA. NEVER AGAIN WILL I HIRE THIS COMPANY!
FYI: They had a Virginia office and phone number listed last year (2015) and it seems this year they dropped it from their website.

The staff were great. What stood out the most was how thorough they were. They were very prompt and showed up with in 5 mins of set time and completion was done by the time frame they said.

They showed up on time and they did the job, but they left significant marks all over our driveway from the seeding machine wheels, as well as footprints. It appeared to just be dirt, so we went at it ourselves with a pressure washer and industrial scrub brush, but we had no luck eliminating or even lightening the marks. We called the company and they never called back. We called again and were told a foreman would call us. He never did. Weeks later, it's still noticeable!

Getting them to communicate is a challenge. Disappointed with their excuse for missing appointment. They do not go to the trouble of keeping the customer in the loop. They show up when they show up. The guys that showed up and did the work were very good. They did everything expected and gave some helpful advice.

Despite promising to come back and reseed any trouble areas, they did not return my phone calls. One corner wasn't even touched with the aerator or seed. I called the office and the salesman and neither even bothered to return my phone call to discuss the matter.

The guys from Level Lawns did a great job. Their price is a little bit expensive. They came when they said they would come.

I had the same crew for two years in a row. Very professional. Results were good

Last year was the best our yard ever looked. This year used again but not as happy. We had to call and get them to come back since there were many places grass was not coming in. They did come back without hesitation. Still not as happy with work this time. I don't know if they have changed something since last year, type of seed, etc.

Level Lawns arrived on time, did an excellent job and completed the work promptly and professionally. The areas they treated last year filled in nicely and look good this year.

We had received a flyer in the mail from Level Lawns, so I called and asked for an estimate to aerate, seed and fertilize my half acre yard. I received a written estimate two days later with a total price of a little over $500. I called the representative who provided the survey and cost estimate and after a little back and forth, we agreed on a price of $400 to aerate, seed, and fertilize my lawn. Two days later Level Lawn came out and did the work much to my satisfaction. Oddly, the bill the technician left behind was for a total of $360, $40 less than the agreed price for the work. I have to assume that my lawn did not require as much seeding or fertilizer as initially expected, hence the lesser price. Either way, the price break was a nice and speaks towards an honest company. My lawn looks great and I plan on using Level Lawns again.

Service was great from initial contact to actual work. Initial contact was by phone to Marietta, GA location. Response by local Virginia co-owner was immediate. Came to house, evaluated lawn and areas of concern. Gave professional advice (later confirmed by other L and Y firms). Showed up on time on day of appointment. Did a very thorough and professional job.

O/A Oct 21 I called LL requesting some of their seed to reapply to some areas which were washed away/did not respond to the original over seeding. LL came out to my house and reapplied the seed themselves. This was much more than I expected. The areas in question had been damaged by excess rain or dead lawn areas not the fault of LL. I did not expect LL to do the work. They are a very good company and very customer oriented.

Showed up when they said they would, did the work. No complaints.

Super! It only took a couple of weeks before the lawn was back to better than normal and they were reasonably priced considering how much sand it took and the area of my yard.

Great! We now have evidence of grass popping up in previously bare places. Happy with the service, and felt the charge for the service was appropriate.

DOES VERY GOOD JOB, USES LOTS OF FESCUE SEED AND PLUGS ARE DEEP. I THINK SEED ALONE WOULD COST ME $100 ALONE. HE CALLS ME AS A REMINDER EVERY YEAR, LEAVES BILL AT DOOR.
