JD did a good job of guiding us through the process and laying out realistic timelines. What really sold us was the fact that their workers are W-2 employees and they don't chase sub contractors to get the job done.

The workmen showed up everyday- + when they said they would. On time! They were careful with the new purchases- cabinets, refrig, microwave, sink, etc- as well as being careful the whole time with my hardwood floors. They were friendly but all about getting the job finished too. I'm very happy + satisfied.

JD Kitchen did an excellent job from the beginning discussions, to design, to installation and clean-up. We found JD Kitchen on Angie's list back in January. The provided a professional response and advice on how to proceed with my questions and concerns. We met at their showroom and they demonstrated a number of options. We paid for an architectural design and they reviewed the two baths and provided a professional and detailed proposal. John and Vicki walked through the design at their office which included computer graphic renderings of the proposed design. They then walked through a very thorough approach to the two projects with detailed breakdown of costs and options. Vicki was great on several recommendations around fixtures, lighting and details I would never have thought of ahead of time. I trusted their judgment and was not disappointed. The work commenced once the materials arrived. I had to use one side of my garage for the materials and supplies through-out the job. Since my wife and I were home during most of the work, it was a bit noisy during demolition but that is to be expected. Jim, the project manager, warned me that it will seem like the project goes on forever but they were almost spot on target for the time it took. There was just one delay for the tile guy but otherwise they were right on schedule. But Marvin was worth the wait. He is a master craftsman with the ceramic and tile. Can't say enough good words about his work. There are always things that change during a project like this but Jim handled the changes really well. I appreciated how he worked with me and kept up with the whole project. The whole team's attention to detail and follow-up is exemplary. They were more particular about the finishing work than either my wife or myself, and we're usually pretty thorough about those things.

All in all, we couldn't be happier about the final result. It was worth every penny and pounded nail.

Thanks, JD Kitchen!

Outstanding job !  Timeline was the biggest constraint on this project.  Contract was signed, the were in the next Tuesday and completed  the job two weeks later as promised.  They designed abd built exactly what we wanted.

The front end work (Quoting, Review of Product) was very good and Vicky made us comfortable.  Communications within JD didn't happen well and as a result John was not up to speed on what we wanted. We were doing this project with JD being the General Contractor which in my mind meant we would see either John or Vicky on the job site from time to time... NOT ! The only time John came out was to deliver the appliances and that was because he was storing them in his truck and needed the space. Otherwise, I don't think John would have ever come on site.
One of the biggest issues I had with JD was the hours their staff worked and what got accomplished in that time frame. The installer (Shawn) would show up at 10:00am take lunch from 12:00-1:30 and then leave around 4:30-5:00. and he was the only installer,,, so not much got done each day. On some day's if he needed screws of something his lunch time would be greatly extended.
My wife and I truly believe the project could have been done much faster and with the same quality if they had two people doing the installation. The only thing we feel they were really fast at was calling for payments. They were really fast with that believe me !
All in all we love our new kitchen, and JD did a nice job, they would have gotten a better review from me if (A) They cared about their clients and not just their clients money and (B) were a little quicker at getting the job done.

"Dear [Member Name]: We want to thank you for your business, ‘I’m sorry you had a bad experience. We’ve been in business 25 years, we serve many customers per week, and we strive to create the best possible remodeling experience for the consumer.’ JD Kitchens employee’s an onsite project manager who not only has over 30 years of experience in this field but has been with JD Kitchens for over a decade. All aspects of the projects are gone over by each project manager with either John or me on a daily basis. We are continually informed of items needed for projects. We have over 6000 square feet of showroom and a warehouse donated for the storage of consumers Appliances and other purchase. Each customer has a bin with their name on it and this is where the products that have been ordered are placed as they come in to our office, once their wait until the order is complete and moved to the client’s home on the start day of the project. There is no need to ever store appliances in our delivery truck unless they are being delivered, and on delivery day are moved to the truck and brought out to our consumers. Most of our clients who receive there appliance delivery are usually excited to see them coming into their house. Our staff members work the hours the showroom is open and that is 10:00 am to 6:00 P.M. and often in the early morning meet building inspectors, electricians or plumbers, this happens in the hours before 10:00 A.M. Many times our project managers have been to a home and meet with inspectors before a home owner gets up. Project managers take an hour lunch as this is encouraged and during such time often run for parts. Sometimes these runs can be lengthy as parts houses are not that close to some of the locations home owners live in. Some of our project managers have children and need to leave around 5 in order to pick up their children. Many consumers always want their project to go faster than the original 6 to 8 week time line stated in the beginning of the project. And there are many aspects of a project that two people are not required at all times. Certain stages requiring the trades must wait on each other. We try not to schedule too many people at one time because they cannot work around each other, a kitchen is only so big and only so many people can be in there at one time. Inspections slow projects down as does granite selections and making sure granite selections are made and inspecting the granite with the fabricator to ensure the lines flow the correct way. All of these things slow a project. The good news is that even with all of these requirements we still finished the project within a 6 week period. “All in all you love your new kitchen” Payments are a contractual part of a contract and as certain phases are completed the payments are due at that time. I am glad to see we were so speedy in collecting them; this would be right in line with the time line as the Kitchen progressed to completion. We continue to strive for our customers and there projects, by the time a consumer decides that they are going to select JD Kitchens as there contractor, no less than 35 to 40 hours has been donated to readying the project for starting. That is a lot of time and man hours to ensure the proper execution of the project. If we didn’t care I truly believe we would not have the outstanding reviews we have, or voted contractor of the year. [Member Name] again I am so saddened that your project was not up to your standards, I assure you we all have strived to complete not only a beautiful Kitchen but an award winning one for you. We want to thank you for your project and we hope you enjoy cooking in your new wonderful Kitchen."

John came and took measurements and said he would design a plan for us.  We wanted new Dacor appliances and a differnt style sink.
When he had the plans, I went to their showroom and we discussed the details and I picked out the new appliances which included a oven/convection oven, a convection microwave oven, a pop up down draft, a Dacor Millennia electric cooktop, stainless double sink, stainless dishwasher.  I also picked out the Kraft Maid cabinets, drawers, and lazy susans.  I bout the garbage disposal and hardware for the cabinets.  I then went to the granite warehouse to pick the granite for the countertops, desk and backsplsh.  The kitchen was taken apart and every thing redone.  The process went pretty smoothly with only a couple of waits.  The installers were wonderful.  They were polite and did a great job.  They also painted the kitchen walls.  I am very happy with the results and my only disappointment is in two seams of the granite that lack shine.  Vicki and John had the granite company come back to fix it, but they said they couldn't after they tried because the flaw was in the granite.  I guess we will just have to live with it.
We had two times they came back to fix wood trim, but came back right away and fixed it perfectly.  I would definitely recommend JD Kitchens and Bath to my friends.

Excellent craftsmen, each person was true professional. They finished on time and on budget. Vicki is amazing at putting the colors and elements together and John and Vicki did thorough presentation with graphics of what we were buying. Pricing was little high and they do charge filing fees also which are substantial and others seem to just blend them into their pricing.
Overall, great to work with and the final product was worth the investment.

I liked that they had some good ideas, but I felt their pricing was initially high. After discussing it with them they came up with ways to reduce the price. Everything apart from the initial price was good about them.

Their estimate was very good.  They seemed to be very professional and we were impressed.  They came and took all the measurements.  We have put him on hold because we had some other issue that came up with our rental property.  We might go with compared to other estimates.  We had called to come after a week to talk about this.  He had a video of our bathroom measurements and what he had planned on doing.  We paid for that and it did take him a lot of effort to come up with that plan.  The materials that he would use were also shown there.  We were very impressed by his professionalism.  He did it line by line.  He had people whom we could call for recommendation.

We decided to work with JD Kitchens when remodeling our master bath because of the design proposal. It was the best by far. Some contractors didn?t even offer design help. Sub contractors were skilled and were able to give us full explanations about the work whenever we had questions or concerns. The only sub who made a major mistake was the granite cutter and that situation worked out for the best anyway. The granite installer was excellent. Any issues that arose were addressed promptly and fully by JD Kitchens. The job took no longer than originally promised.* We would use them again especially on jobs where we need design help. We can?t say enough about how much that part of the service added to the overall value for the cost. *The job would have been quicker than promised but work had to stop briefly so that several long standing issues such as leaks in the walls, repairs to ceilings and a bad electrical panel (JD Kitchens made us aware of a recall) could be dealt with. This "surprises" were handled quickly and reasonable priced.

They told us up front when we went into their Showroom that we would have to spend a little more than we thought to do it the right way, and they were right. I thought it was important that they didn't want to just sell us any old job, and that they cared how my house would look so as to advise me what I should do to do it right ! What if I left? They wouldn't get a sale, but I listened to them & trusted their judgement, (they said they have won design awards), and I liked what they did on our porch so we trusted them. Now I am happy -- delighted that we went with them, our kitchen is the talk of the neighborhood! The work quality is perfect, and they are so detailed and care about every feature, and it was a smooth easy project after all. They take a lot of worrying and guesswork out of it, and it shows they have been doing this a long time. They are very nice & professional, all of their guys are, we are thinking now of a new project, & they asked me if I could share our feelings with the public from our last experiences with them. so yes, we love them !

It went very well, of coarse it was done in two parts, but once the cabinets came in from kraftmaid, it was a few weeks then they were done. The only regret I would say I have, is I tried to skimp on the tile for the floor to save money, and I am not that happy with the look of the tile overall. JD Kitchens & Baths workmanship was fine, actually great, but the tile was my choice decision which I regret. Their guys they have that do their work are very professional, clean cut, and very nice to have in our home.We felt more comfortable knowing that the guys doing work in our home were employees of JD Kitchens Baths & More and not just subs, or guys they threw in our home. We are Very Happy with JD Kitchens, and would very much us them again.

The designer there helped with the design and helped us pick the cabinets. We thought the service was great and are very happy with the cabinets. The owner was great, he would come here while the cabinets were being installed and check on the work. He would also check in with us which I thought was great follow up.
