Hackney Carpet was recommended to us by our realtor. We met both Jeff and Donna, who were personable and professional. Requested a quote for removing our 1974 glued-down carpet in our basement and on stairs leading to basement. Jeff brought samples to our house, and recommended a few carpets, based on our color and texture desires, as well as the fact that our basement is damp. He gave us an estimate on the spot. We felt like the price was good, so we paid a 25% downpayment. We scheduled installation for 8 days later. Juan was the lead installer (3 installers, total). The team was prompt, polite, professional, and fast! They finished the job in about 4 hours, and we paid the balance due. We are so happy with the look and feel of our new carpet. We highly recommended Hackney Carpet.

This is our second time using Hackney Carpets. We used them about 12 years ago and were so pleased and impressed with the quality of work performed we decided to use them again. Still in business and at the same location. Their price was in line with all other estimates. Jeff, the owner is a real upstanding, decent guy. He also showed up twice during the installation to oversee how things were going. This is a family owned business that has been around for a long while and if you ever do business with them you will understand why they are still around. We are completely pleased, happy and proud of the wonderful job well done.

Hackney carpets are the real deal. They put the C in Customer Service! As an IT instructor and business owner, I teach my students what we call in the industry "soft skills", or customer service. Hackney carpets exemplifies professionalism in every way. The Hackney's demonstrated what I teach my students. They were responsive from the start to the end of the process. They made sure we had access to the financing and documentation needed to get under way. Their crew arrived on time and were removing the old flooring no less than 3 minutes after arrival, which made an everlasting impression on me. So much so that I will use this experiencing as an example to my students of how customer service is done! The installation took two days, including the removal of a sub floor, re-leveling the floor where needed. They completed the den, kitchen, and breakfast area. Jeff & Donna Hackney worked together to make sure we were happy with the results, and boy what results! We are very happy with their work. As for pricing, yea you can get cheaper but you will not get the results we got (unless you are doing it yourself, and then you'd better know what you're doing). Case in point: our next door neighbor recently had a home make-over and invited my wife and I to take a look. Everything was impressive but the flaws in the flooring stood out like a sore thumb. After meeting the team that did the work for her my wife and I knew that we wanted a professional job done. We needed it done without surprises, that is what we paid for, peace of mind and a professional job. Was it worth it, EVERY RED CENT! I would HIGHLY recommend Hackney carpets. No surprises, no guessing, no headaches! They will be doing our basement next.

Wonderful ! We met with the owner and felt very comfortable with the purchasing process. He wasn't pushy with the sale but instead very objective. Better yet is when he had suggested tile in an area where there was high foot traffic from the garage entrance into the home. Owner was right on target with the completion time. Work crew was great and they respected our home to our delight. Performance was outstanding and with workmanship and cleanliness. They moved the furniture with respect and placed it back where it started. Very easy to deal with. We can't say enough good things about this whole process.

I was very happy with them. They came in, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and got the job finished in one day. They used very high quality carpets and we had a follow-up from the owner. Overall, it was a very professional job.

We were duly impressed with Hackney Carpet. We were looking for help with carpet repair. Jeff advised that Hackney does not provide carpet repair services and offered a recommendation on other providers to consider. Even though we did not represent business for him, he took some additional time to give a free consultation on options for possible carpet repair. We got quotes for repairing the carpet from a few providers and finally decided to replace it instead. Of course, we went back to Hackney Carpet. They came out to take measurements when they said they would and they prepared a detailed quote for replacing the carpet. We were not able to use them for this job because their quote was just over our maxed out budget. Still, we will definitely keep Hackney in mind and refer them to others.

We used Hackney Carpet on recommendation of the contractor who remodeled our living room (The Remodelers) and were very happy with the job they did. They arrived promptly on the scheduled date and finished the job the same day. We were a bit concerned because the crew did not know where the vinyl wood plank would meet the carpet, but Jeff Hackney came out quickly and marked it off and the rest of the job went without a hitch. The crew were very skillful and we couldn't be more pleased with the result.

It was excellent!!! I did have one problem with the carpet in the master bedroom. Jeff and Donna came out, looked at it and the carpet was replaced at no charge to me. The color was even from the same dye lot as all the other carpet!!! I highly recommend Hackney Carpet and have told several people that they are just great!!! They are professional, friendly and very responsive. They want you, the customer to be pleased!!

This is the 2nd time we have used Jeff / Floors by Design. In every case, he has met a crazy deadline and been so professional and patient. I enjoy working with him and would use him again.

The installation was OK. The crew seemed diligent enough, but the English was a bit of a struggle. The owner had told me they would fasten down any loose and squeaky floor panels, but I noted that the installers didn't appear to be doing so. After some effort at making this clear, the lead installer did get a nail/screw gun from the truck and went around randomly adding screws to eliminate squeaks. So I ended up being the floor "tester" and pointing out places where additional screws were needed. Unfortunately, they ran out of "ammo" for the gun with LOTS of tightening left to do. Their response was kind of a shrug of the shoulders. Somewhat against my better judgement I left them at the house and took the gun and a sample of their screws to the local Home Depot and managed to get new screws - after being told by Home Depot that what the contractor was using were deck screws, not flooring screws. When I returned, more screws were added and we eventually completed the job .Hackney, of course, reimbursed me for the screws! The team worked efficiently it seemed. They "saved" enough carpet to complete an unplanned short flight of stairs into the basement, and had some complicated places to lay carpet (we have the stupidest, narrowest, deepest closet in creation). I'm no expert, but they appeared to do a good job. However I didn't care for the feeling that I needed to keep an eye on what was happening. They cleaned up pretty well, but I found some black "gunk" on the hardwood in the entry way over which they moved in and out and had to clean that after they had gone. I would certainly ask Hackney to bid on future jobs, but we will discuss the installation process before they get the business. My wife is very happy with the final result which, after all, is a big part of the project!

I had a large section of carpet donated to me from my sister and they came out to install it. It was kind of all hodgepodge size because it came from her 'massive' bedroom sitting room area (she put in hardwood) and they measured it out and cut it to fit two bedrooms that hadn't had new carpet in 11 years. I bought the pad too. They charged 300 to install two rooms and another 60 to move the furniture out and return it. This was wonderful as the help I had arranged beforehand to move the furniture bailed on s. We have two HUGE desks and bookcases that had to be moved., plus bedroom furniture in the second room. They did it in less than 8 hours. They were kind, courteous and efficient. They also rerolled the extra carpet and pad neatly and left no mess. I highly recommend them and would use them again.

Excellent job. Completed job one day sooner than they estimated. Quality of work was great. The work crew led by Brandon was excellent. Furniture was moved with no disruption. I work from home and needed to keep my internet connection up. They worked around the birds nest of wires I had running across the floor. They even offered to put on felt pad protectors (which I purchased from Home Depot/Lowes) on all of our furniture before putting furniture back on the newly installed hardwood to prevent scratching it. Crew was on time everyday. I highly recommend this company.
