Dianne Brown came to me via a recommendation from a neighbor. Their children had participated in sports together. We talked on the phone and she came to my home to discuss the scope of work. Dianne brought her "sample boards" and photo album for me to browse through. I was incredibly impressed by her creativity. She had some faux applications that I had never seen before. Simply beautiful. My needs were simple. I wanted stripes painted on my dining room walls. At the time, I was having some major remodeling work and painting done to the interior of my home. I provided Dianne with the Benjamin Moore paint selection I was using. I also gave her a piece of green cardboard from which she had the color matched. We then came up with a third color to use in the stripe. I did receive one other quote from another faux painter. His price was cheaper, however I didn't feel that we "connected" on what I wanted done. Dianne's price was much more then I intended to pay. She was, however, meticulous in her approach to her work and in the execution. She understood that I was extremely detailed and that I was going to be very hands-on. I think we were of like-minds. She began and completed the job as scheduled and she protected my hardwood floors with paper and plastic. The finished room is stunning! It is exactly as we discussed and as she had planned. Dianne is a consummate professional and someone I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a unique approach to faux painting
Description of Work: Dianne Brown is a professional Faux Painter specializing in unique, custom applications designed for her client's wants and needs. My dining room was wallpapered and, painted over that, a deep, dark shade of red. Dianne preped the walls by lightly mudding and sanding the seams and nail holes. She then applied two (2) coats of Kilz to neutralize the red. I showed her a magazine photo of striped wallpaper in a dining room. She understood the "feeling" I was trying to create. I also showed her two (2) paint colors that I wanted to use. She developed several different "sample boards" incorporating different stripe patterns using three (3) colors. Together, we selected the one which had a scale perfect for the room. Dianne laid out the pattern so that the stripes flowed evenly around the room. She then taped the walls and painted in stages. It took about 7 to 10 days for her to complete the job. Painting of the ceiling was not included in her price.
