Emerson Home Services offers free roof inspections! We provide services such as full roof replacement, interior and exterior repairs, and roof repairs. Our HAAG Certified Inspectors know all about the types of storm damage found on roofs. We have the tools and knowledge to help you through the insurance claims process as well as any mortgage company requirements you may have. Our office staff will make sure you get the answers you need. Custom proposals and reports can be generated specifically for your Insurance Company.

My neighborhood experienced wind and storm damage as a result of a tornado that hit less than a mile away. Emerson circulated throughout my neighborhood explaining they were experienced in working with insurance companies to submit claims for roof damage as a result of such storms. They were very good in providing guidance through the insurance claim submission processes. I asked if they could do some interior painting and exterior painting as well and they said absolutely as they were a complete home services provider.
I have nothing to compare the roof installation to but learned after asking, the roofers were not Emerson employees but rather a 3rd party vendor - I was not happy they did not disclose that without me having to ask. On the day of the roof installation, a hammer was dropped through my roof and damaged my kitchen ceiling. I immediately brought it to the attention of the Emerson representative and was not happy that the person who dropped it did not report it to the foreman - what would have happened if I wasn't home when they were putting the roof on? Walk into my kitchen to see sheet rock on the floor and a hole in my ceiling? Conclusion: Emerson did a poor quality patch job on my kitchen ceiling with an equally poor painting job; they had to re-patch the ceiling again and repaint the kitchen ceiling 3 times to get it right.
The real nightmare came when trying to negotiate the interior/exterior painting. They are masters of telling you what you want to hear and trying to charm their way through negotiations, constantly trying to reassure that they'll take care of things and "do right by you." After over a month of face-to-face meetings, email exchanges, phone calls etc. they were never able to provide an itemized estimate of the work - it was as if this was the first time they had heard of such a request. After stating that I would pull the plug on using them for this work, they provided a very high level estimate (not at all what I had asked for) but to be honest, I was just worn out from the whole process so I gave the go ahead to proceed.
To this day I have no idea who the project manager was for the interior/exterior painting done at my house - Alan and Blake never wrote anything down which resulted in the wrong paint being delivered, scheduling the exterior painting to be done before they even finished pressure washing, etc. (they pressure washed part of the house one day and never came back to finish. I had to follow-up on this with their office manager to get it scheduled to be done). It was such a mismanaged painstaking process that what should have take 1-2 days to complete, took 3-4 because of their disorganization, miscommunication and mismanagement. I ended up having to take time off from work as I did not trust the job nor quality they would do without me being there to watch because again, there was no one from Emerson that was doing the oversight and quality assurance. The unprofessionalism was exemplified when Blake, who supposedly is part owner of the company or something, offered to just stop in the middle of the job and leave because he was getting frustrated with us calling them out on the aforementioned disorganization, miscommunication, etc. We asked he not return to our property/this job and later learned several of our neighbors also banned him from their property/jobs.
Long story short, if you use Emerson, be prepared to fill the roles of project manager, foreman, and quality control yourself and have the time to be onsite and oversee it all. Painful does not sufficiently describe the process we went through and I will never use their services again nor recommend them.
"RE: [member name removed] Emerson Home Services representatives met with [member name removed] to go over their adjusters report from the insurance company on Saturday, 12-6-15, after they had already signed our Contractor Of Choice agreement on 11-8-14. The Contractor of Choice agreement clearly outlines that we are to be paid the amount designated in the adjusters report. Their requests for itemized breakdowns were outlined in the adjusters report from day one. We emailed several other itemized breakdowns in an attempt to give them what they wanted. Emerson Home Services Field Supervisors were on site (Saturday, 1-10-15) when the hammer fell through the ceiling during the roof production. We viewed, photographed and discussed the issue with the client and assured them we would get it handed. We initiated ceiling repairs the very next day (which was on a Sunday) at no cost to the homeowner. We immediately scheduled the painting of the drywall repair on that same date. The exterior portion of the project was delayed somewhat due to inclement weather beyond our control. Please see the weather on and around these dates of 1-6-15 to 1-7-15, 1-16-15 and 1-19-15 through 1-21-15, because we did have to reschedule with the client. Upon completion of work performed at [member name removed]’s home, a thorough walk though was performed with all matters satisfactorily completed and payment rendered in full after the walk through. We installed 21 roofs in this subdivision and will gladly provide the names, addresses and phone numbers of the 20 roofs where our customers are happy. Anyone who has a genuine interest will find that all of our clients in this subdivision were fully satisfied. We were under the impression this customer was pleased as well, due to the payment in full and that all issues were resolved. If there is anything else that [member name removed] feel was left uncompleted, we will gladly make a return trip to this property. Sincerely, Emerson Home Services"

We called the insurance company a few days later and I formally submitted a claim and allowed Emerson to represent me with the insurance company. Their adjuster came to the house and agreed there was wind damage and that the entire roof needed to be replaced. The price was set solely on what the insurance company would pay, less my deductible. So I got a new roof that was better than the old one for about $800.
I met the owner of the company, Eddie's father, as well. He's a terrific guy, was very helpful and honest with us. We had a problem with gutter covers, which were not so great to begin with but they did the job. Emerson offered to replace them all at no charge because some of them were damaged during the roofing process. They did replace them all and this is a fairly large house.
I highly recommend Emerson Home Repair and would do business with them again.
