We used them five years ago and they were very professional. All of the subs were good. When I asked for something, they would do it and they explained themselves. They would do whatever I wanted. I might look for a lower cost.

The gutter work was outstanding and the paining is done very well. They are very responsive. I would recommend them. They came out and looked at the gutters and they did a customized job for us. They put straight out screening on the flat potion of the roof. Then on the inclined roof they put a leak guard gutter that could that could receive the water that was coming off the angle of the roof. It has worked very well for us. Their price was not overly expensive and it packs really good value. We had a problem in one of the areas where the paint did not stick on an awning and they came back out and replaced it at no extra cost. They were there early every morning. They wore painter uniforms when they came in and they were clean and laid drop clothes down. They put up protective like material and were very conscientious. The head painter guy is Allen and he's outstanding. I intend to use them again for interior painting.

The original bath was long and narrow, accessed from each end. There was a small room with a double washbasin accessed from a main hallway in the house; from this room there was a door into a toilet room, and from there another door into the bathroom with a tub, and a make-up area, with access to the master bedroom. In the bathroom there was a double step up from the tub area to the bedroom/makeup area level. The space was totally unsuited for two aging owners, one with mobility issues.
Brownlaw tore the rooms out to the studs, build up the floor in the toilet room and tub area to the bedroom level, erected a wall where the entrance from the previous double washbasin to toilet room had been, and installed a new and quot;right heightand quot; toilet and free standing wash basin, creating a half bath. The old toilet room became a wheelchair accessible totally tiled walk-in shower with bench, grab bars, hand and stationary shower heads and glass doors. A new and quot;right heightand quot;toilet was installed where the tub had been previously, a double sink unit with storage below and a granite top was built and installed in the previous make-up area. Ventilators were installed in both rooms. New accessible doors to the main hallway and into the bedroom were installed. Trim was painted drywall over a chair rail with bead board below in the half bath. The bead board was painted white, then over-painted very light green and wiped down to become white with very light green in the beaded grooves. The main bath was painted drywall. Doors were painted to match the interior of the spaces on the inside, and the outsides were stained and varnished to match the walnut trim in the rest of the house.
The Brownlaw workmen were punctual, polite and friendly, as were the subs. They made every effort to work with us to resolve minor design issues, and cleaned up after themselves at every turn. The project manager was on site almost every day, and the architect made frequent visits. We were very pleased, both with the process and with the result.

They may not be the cheapest but they make up for it in dependability, follow through and quality of work. They are always here when they say they will be.

Our experience was very good. The job supervisor, Alan, was very polite and professional. He was considerate of our budget, yet showed us where our home needed repairs. The workers were punctual daily and did a very good job and cleaned up their materials neatly.

My experience with them is always excellent. They are responsive. And one of the things that impresses me most about it, is they keep coming back until they finish the job. Brownlow and Sons Co Inc. will finish until the customer is satisfied. They have a lot of captive subs (people that they use and use often enough that they keep them busy.) And they are all high quality people or people that they've used a lot and are vetted. So, it's not like every job gets a random new person to do the various trades.

Our experience with Brownlow and Sons Co. Inc. was a nightmare. They installed the toilet a foot away from the wall and then told us it would be another $3000 to get it moved back. They also say we didn't need a fan which we later found we did to meet city codes. The manager was very rude to us. We couldn't get them to respond and finally we ended up going to a different company to resolve all of these issues.

THEY WERE COURTEOUS. THEY GOT BACK TO ME. THEY WERE VERY FAIR ON THEIR PRICES. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT I HAD ASKED THEM TO REPLACE SCREEN DOORS ON MY BALCONY, BUT THEY NEVER GOT BACK WITH ME.
