Bob'S Locksmith

After reviewing locksmiths in the Marietta, Ga on line, I chose to contact Bob's Locksmith. They advertised on the web that they were offering a residential service call special at a discount of $15 (normally $29). When I called them at (770)772-5333 I described the problem of having turned the glass paneled french door knob inside button to a locked position and my keys were left inside. It was confirmed that the service call charge would be $15 and the charge for unlocking the door knob would be $35 or above depending on the type of lock/job required. I asked if they could tell me what they thought the charge would be for unlocking this particular type of lock. I told them I felt it would be a simple job. She still said the charge would be $35 or above as though it was a script she was reading. I reluctanly agreed to have them come out. The locksmith arrived 25 or 30 minutes later (even though their web site proclaimed it guarented arrival in 15 minutes) in a van painted as Direct Locksmith, not Bob's Locksmith. He looked at the lock, inserted a small pillow type bag between the doors and pumped air into the bag via squeezing a blub in the hand like used for reading blood pressure. Then he inserted a large device resembling a flat head screw driver and bumped or popped the door open. His work took approximately 30 to 45 seconds. I was shocked when he gave me a bill for $150. He said he knew nothing about the discounted service charge ($15 service call) proclaimed on the web site and confirmed by me from the person I spoke with. He also said the standard charge of $121 for his labor was normal. I asked what type of job would qualify for the $35 beginning charge and he seemed dumbfounded. So for a job I estimated would be around $50 based on the information obtained, I was shocked to be charged two-thirds more ($150). I was curious about Direct Locksmith (since that is waht was represented to the van that responded to my call) so I looked them up on the web and their phone number is 866-466-2969. The also have the "special service call" for $15. I feel I was intentionally mislead as to what they planned to charge me for their service. I feel they are deceitful con-artist thieves. I will never use Bob's Locksmith or Direct Locksmith again.I suggest you do not either.
