These people repair and sell classic Porsche 914's. I bought this car from Auto Atlanta based on what I thought was a good reputation and claimed service and improvements performed in their shop. I paid a staggering $24500 for the car with a claimed 6-7K value of that being the "improvements" made at their shop. Said improvements were advertised in the past tense (ie they had ALREADY been performed) I paid for the car in full with the help of my bank. My bank backed me with the purchase solely based on Auto Atlanta's description of car and the improvements claimed to have been performed. When my shipper arrived, the work had yet to be completed. Auto Atlanta made no apology nor took effort to quickly finish the car so my shipper could load. In short, I lost $700 deposit. At this point, based on attitude of owner, I asked for my money back. He refused. When the car arrived, I knew that I had been had. Most of the work performed was to low standard or inoperable. My contact with seller/servicer to discuss my incredible disappointment was met with scorn, defensiveness, and attitude that is indescribable. The seller/servicer had bought this car with purpose of flipping it. As a dealer, I expected dealer information to be properly filled in on the title. It wasn't and that fact leads to many questions. What seller/service purported to be a "fully rebuilt" engine was later determined by receipts and phone conversations with engine "Builder" to be a re-sealed motor with new injection pump. There is a CONSIDERABLE difference between the two in cost and value to a buyer/owner. This gross "error" , in my opinion is far more than puffing or exaggerating. I would NEVER have bought the car or certainly paid as much if I have been told the truth. I have since attempted to market this car to recoup as much of my money as possible. My efforts to date have only yielded offers in the 15-16K range which would net me a loss of $8500 in purchase price, additional $700 loss in aborted shipping due to servicer, sales tax, and misery.
