I called Atlantis on a Saturday, hoping they may be able to fit me in. I was given an appointment that day, and received a call back well ahead of time that the appointment would need to shift forward an hour as the technician would need to spend extra time at an earlier appointment. Victor came out right on schedule, and spent some time looking at my dishwasher. Ultimately, he concluded the motor had gone bad, and he showed me the problem within the unit (very little water pressure from the water jets). He quoted me a price to repair the motor, but did not pressure me at all. In the end I decided to replace the unit entirely (as there were some cosmetic issues as well). By keeping me aware of the time frames, and providing honest service, they have earned my business in the future.

The repairman came out the first time, reset the control board and said to call back if it was still not working. I called back and the repairman came out the second time. He replaced the control board (for most of the money). The freezer continue to thaw and refreeze. I called again, the repairman came out the third time and told me that there wasn't a problem. I called the office, requested a new repairman (because I'd already invested $350 and it still wasn't fixed). The fourth time, the new repairman told me that it was the compressor but he reset the new control board just in case. I was told to call again if it still wasn't working. So, I called again and was told that it would be $500+ to replace the compressor. So, by spending $850 and more to fix the refrigerator, I could buy a new one instead. I believe that the problem was misdiagnosed originally.
I understand that repairs and parts are expensive. I appreciate that they came out 4 times without charging me service fees after the first visit. However, my refrigerator is still broken. At this point, I'm going to call GE to see what they say. If a compressor replacement is going to cost $500 or more, I guess I will replace my 4-year old GE refrigerator with a more reliable brand.

As a follow up, I finally sucked it up to replace the compressor. This time, I called GE directly. They came out and it turned out to be one of the $16 sensors that Atlantis Repair had installed that went bad. So GLAD I did not have Atlantis replace the $500 compressor too! I'll always call the manufacturer directly from now on. Plus, my new parts now have a 5-year warranty.

Being 6 month out of warranty with my dishwasher I initially called the store I bought the appliance but their service department wanted $80 just for the service call. Thanks, but no thanks Sears.
Upon further research I found Atlantis Appliance. Called them at 9PM on Friday night and scheduled for the next day 10-12AM. My repairman Victor came on time and I showed him what the issue was. He went right to work. Within 30 minutes everything was taken care of.
If anything else goes south with any of my other appliances I will call them, and only them. They're a good pick.
