Everyone I dealt with seemed very professional. Was not present for the cleaning and did not see pictures but the fireplace is nice and clean.

Stephen and his assistant came on the first visit for an estimate. Because of his excellent customer service and professionalism I hired the company to do my work. On the second visit, a different crew showed up and seemed distracted, uninterested, and lacked professionalism. They were nice enough but the work they performed was incomplete and substandard. I called to complain and was handled with great interest to correct the problem. This season is apparently very busy for them but they managed to reschedule the completion before it rained again. Stephen and his assistant finished the work and I am extremely pleased with their professionalism and quality of work. I would definitely recommend Stephen and his crew.

We hired American Chimney, Gutter and Roofing for a small flashing repair other firms seemed unwilling to make. We appreciated Richard's knowledge and advice on how to solve the problem without completing redo-ing all of the flashing, as the others suggested at double the cost. The team arrived on-time, and came back to make a final adjustment to ensure the new flashing matched the existing flashing. Will hire ACGR again, if the need arises.

Very timely response

I was given a quote over the phone for inspection and cleaning. Had the call on speaker. Two others heard the quote I was given. Asked to receive a follow up a written quote by email, this was agreed to. Never received. The technician came - in fifteen minutes total - laid out a tarp, inspected my chimney from the inside only, cleaned with a vacuum, packed away tarp. Also included in the fifteen minutes was showing us cracks in the mortar that he offered to fix at a later date, but the cost was added to the current invoice, which was already $100 over the quoted amount when the appointment was made. After two phone calls to his boss and scheduling secretary, both on the speaker where it was stated I must be wrong, the technician said he would absorb the additional $100 out of his own pocket. Seemed extremely Bait and Switch. We have a home inspection in a couple of days, we will see what they say about our chimney cleaning. After speaking with several friends who have had their chimneys cleaned and inspected via the pros found through Angie s List, we found that a proper chimney cleaning takes much much longer than fifteen minutes and that some work is done from the roof.
