"It was a real pleasure to work with this super nice couple."
This was a $350 big deal purchase. They were okay. They only came out once. Their responsiveness was fine. They did not stay the whole time they said they were going to stay. Also they had two guys who came in my bonus room and they did a cr*p job. The guy who painted my ceiling, I think it was the dad, did a good job. There were some splatters that I had to clean up, but other than that the work was fine. The workers who came out were nice.

"This homeowner contacted me for an estimate. I examined the house and came up with a $1400.00 bid. My mistake however was in allowing them to do part of the work themselves; providing their own paint (which did not cover adequately); and then bartering for a used refrigerator as part of the price. We arrived at a $700.00 price for labor only and I was to omit certain sections of the house they were going to do. The paramerters of the job became confused because the husband would tell me one thing and then the wife would change it. She was going to do part of the work herself. They first wanted the trim done, then not done. Then they left us with the job and on the way home called back and told me to give them an estimate for doing all the work instead of just the parts we discussed. I agreed and when I called them multiple times to give them the revised figure, they did not answer. I knew they were coming back on Thursday and we had to be through, so I went ahead with the job in good faith they could be trusted to pay the difference We then realized the cheap paint they bought did not cover and was requiring a second coat, which required another 4 gallons of paint and another 18 hours labor. Even the trim work required two coats I thought $400 was fair plus the cost for the extra paint. When they arrived, the house was finished ahead of time and ready to move in. Most people I work for would appreciate this and would not mind paying $400 extra in all fairness. When I gave them the final bill they refused to pay the difference. After a heated discussion and several attempts to explain my position I told them to pay me for what they thought it was worth and I would leave. He agreed to pay $200. I was told to "get the F___ out of their house". I collected my check and did leave before things escalated out of hand. It is utterly ridiculous for these people to demand I repay them $ 200 when in reality, they owe me $200. The tie backs thy accuse me of stealing, to me are completely worthless. Since they were throwing away things the former owner left, I followed suit and discarded the tie-backs since they said they were getting new curtains. I don't like conflict and grieve over dissatisfied customers. These accusations and this complaint indicates a vengeful spirit and if any body should lose their membership with Angie's List, it should be them. Regretfully submitted, Don Williams"
Don Williams and this twin sons did an exceptional job in completing all repairs and painting the entire exterior. Don did the repair work and his sons did almost all of the painting.
His prep and pressure washing was critical, and he did a great job with this. The painting took time in the July high heat. both sons were meticulous and did not spill or drip, and protected all floors and outside surfaces.
The lines separating the two different colors that were used were sharp and crisp, with no "over-painting" on brick or window sills.
Don is easy to work with, arrived when he said he would. .
I will use them again, for sure
"In over 30 years of being in the painting business I have found that there are some people who are impossible to please completely. In this case, we definately tried. This was an interior job that was started on a rainy day. We completed the patching and sanding and prep work and then applied a finish coat in the color she selected. At the end of the day, it looked good. In fact the customer said she was happy with it. She even paid the invoice in full. This was on Saturday. On Monday she called and expressed concern that the areas where it was cut in were not blending right. That is a common problem. We assured her we would come and check it. We returned on Wednesday (I had already started another job) and found what she said was accurate. The paint did not blend, obviously. We assured her we would not just "touch-up" but we would go get more paint and apply another complete coat of paint to correct the problem. This we did at no extra charge. I feel we have been unfairly judged by this customer. Every grade she gave us is unjustifiable, especially an F in quality. We were punctual and professional. I regret deeply that this customer was not pleased, especially since before this review we had an "A" rating with Angie's list."
