Buice Roofing & Repairs

Nothing but leaks and more leaks......this guy is NOT  a roofer.  He is a contractor that picks up cheap labor from the street corners in the morning.

On 3/13/2012, Brian came out and did some additional work to the roof.  He added carriage bolts and a ridge vent from one end of the house to the other.  He promised to mail an invoice breaking down the work he did but still has not sent the invoice. Approximately eight weeks ago, Carrie noticed a leak around one of her bathroom vents.  It had been leaking all along, but due to the lights position, it wasn't detectable unless looking for it.  She noticed once it got moldy.  She has photos of every time it rains the leak and damage gets bigger.  She has left Brian numerous messages and still he has not called me back.  Nor has he sent someone out to the house to fix the problems. Carrie says she doesn't know what has changed with Buice Roofing that Brian is no longer the professional he was in the past, but at this point in time  she says she wouldn't recommend him for work on a doghouse.  The roof – materials AND workmanship – is still under full warranty.

The roof, completed in May of 2010 on a rental property, appeared to be done well, and all debris was removed.  However, in January of 2012 the tenants reported that there was evidence of a leak in the dining room.  I contacted Brian Buice, who completed the original work, and was assured that he would go repair the job within a reasonable time frame.   I did not hear from either Brian Buice or the tenants concerning the repair job over the following weeks.  In April I was notified by the tenants that the leak was continuing and had since spread to the kitchen, and that there was now significant damage to the ceiling in both rooms.  I called Buice Roofing and left a message noting the property address and asking for a return call.  I did not receive a return call, and so over the following week left multiple messages requesting communication.  I have not heard from Buice roofing, and the tenants have indicated that they were not aware of anyone coming to do any work on the roof at any time.

Brian  installed lag bolts along the entire length of the roof and installed a ridge vent.  Both of these will secure any future roof leaks or house separation due to ground settlement.  Job WELL DONE!!!   If you have roofing issues I highly recommend calling Brian.  He is the man for the job.

Contacted through Yellow Pages.  Used them because they had BBB rating and 1 year warranty.
First worker came out but did not even go up in attic to see where leaks were.  Repaired when I was not at home.
Still had same leaks in same spots, so called to get warranty work done.  Contacted multiple times and left message with no calls back.  Only way I could get in contact with the company was to call just before they opened and get answered as if personal phone.
Second worker came out on Saturday and looked in attic and did some work while I was at home.  But still had same two leaks in same areas.  Called to complain again and Mr. Buice said they would have to come out when it was raining to see where the water was coming from as they had replaced  some boots and seals.
Never heard back from them.  Warranty in now out, still have same two leaks in same two areas, and am out $330.

Called for an estimate on Saturday 16 Jul 11 and agreed to start and finish repair on Sunday 17 Jul 11.  Original agreed start time was 8:00 - 9:00 AM.  However, did not start until 1:00 PM.  Estimate hours to complete project was 4.5-5 hours and completed in 5.5 hours.  Very good job and very neat.  I really liked the fact that neither of the crew smoked and left butts in grass.  Very nice.

He was on time and on budget. He responded to the request immediately. He did an excellent job in a professional manner. I will definitely use him again, if/when the need arises, and will recommend him to friends and family.

I would definitely call Brian if I was you.  If you get a lower estimate he will see if can match it.  He's been in this business for over 17 years and knows his stuff.  Honest and professional.  Quick to get on the job and get it done and do it right the first time.
