They're consistently A's. We've used them for many years. They reach out if they think we're not paying attention. When they come, they're always good about saying this can wait or you really to do this now or whatever. I don't feel like they're trying to up-sell me unnecessarily. Really, we're still using them 12 years later.

They were not necessarily the cheapest, but they are not horrendously expensive either. The only thing was because of the time of the year and everybody was getting their stuff checked, they just were not quite as quick as I would have liked.

Poorly. I spent over $10,000 dollars with these guys for a system that did not work. I first started using Snellville Heating and Air 19 years ago and they were a small company that focused on customer value. Unfortunately, that is NO longer the case, the owners and sales people are focused solely on the bottom line and making commission off of the customers. Strongly advise people looking for HVAC solutions to look elsewhere. Unfortunately, my last couple experiences with them have been disappointing rip-offs.

The sales presentation was over the top.  Quoting absurdly high prices to make the normal high price seen more palatable.
After I signed the agreement the sales rep became agitated with my request for helping move boxes in the attic space.
He told me to get that space ready myself and then recanted when he realized that response was not appropriate.  The install crew made the installation easy by moving just a couple of boxes.  The installation manager said the removal of all the attic boxes wasn't necessary.  The entire installation crew were fantastic and worked very hard in the high heat.  Kudos to all those guys!!! The only hiccup was a miscommunication with the size of filter to install.  I had ordered 4in media and the installation paperwork only specified 1in.  They went the extra mile in effort and got the new 4in. media out the same day and installed it quickly.
Within 2 days there was considerable noise coming from the AC unit and they came back out quickly and made the adjustment at no charge.  This was the 2nd unit they have installed for me.  Overall a good company, still not a fan of the over the top sales approach.  The 16 SEER Lennox unit still runs louder compared to the Carrier unit it replaced.  But then again it is much larger. The unit sits outside my home office which makes phone conversations difficult at times. According to the sales rep my home sits in the middle of a space/time continuum and the air flow between this galaxy and next requires a super expensive unit to allow proper air flow between the three-dimensional space next to the 4th dimension.  So I ponied up for the more expensive unit so as not to cause a time warp in my neighborhood with limited air flow caused by a less expensive AC unit. This is how the sales presentation left me feeling after the jaw-dropping reflection of wasted time discussing a simple task of replacing my old AC unit.

THE JOB

Absolutely no significant problems, misunderstandings, or surprises whatsoever!

For those of you who must have some little quibbles for veracity sake, here they are:

  1. 1) The job took a little longer than what they estimated (but they were still in and out the same day).

  2. 2) Some sheet metal screws made it onto the driveway and one ended up in a tire before I found them and picked them up.

THE RESULTS

We have gone a year with the system now and have not had any problems whatsoever.

THE COMPANY

Excellent experience with this contractor.

The only negative thing (for us) I would point out about the company is that Snellville Heating and Air is no longer in Snellville.  If you need to drop by to pick up a filter or a part, it?s a drive to Monroe.

THE COMPETITION

We started with a quote from another reputable company.  Snellville H&A was about $5,000 less for the same Lenox system.

Heat pump repair - service person investigated the best options for repair or replacement; discovered an electrical problem (that caused the circuit breaker to throw when the pump was started); Proactively scheduled a second visit after working several hours and ordering a part (as it was late in the evening by the time the "diagnosis" had been made). Promptly showed up on time (in fact, a little early), and kept us informed on his progress with the repair; and - most importantly - successfully fixed the heat pump. It is working perfectly now without any problems.

We came home from vacation to a freezing house.  We emailed Snellville Heating and Air around midnight.  They returned my call first thing in the morning and were over the same day.  It turned out our filter was dirty (our fault!) and the system turns itself off so it doesn't overheat and potentially cause a fire.  This was a minor repair but it was big to us ~ everyone wants to be comfortable in their own home.
Our builder used Snellville Heating and Air for new construction on our home 22 years ago! and we never left!  They provide outstanding service and we have never had a reason to ever call anyone else!

The guy they sent out to do the estimate was honest and knew his job.  He didn't try to sell you something you didn't need, but had solid recommendations.  The guys they sent out to do the work were first rate, but didn't carry all of the parts they needed.  They left a big hole in my wall and a couple of small items (fittings, spare filter they promised, ...) were not delivered during installation.   They always send out an "inspector" afterwards, so the missing pieces shouldn't have been a problem.  The inspector (basically a Quality Control guy) was to show up within a couple of days, but after a week I called and asked when the parts would be coming.  They gave me one crazy story after another (oops we forgot, the inspector has been sick, the inspector quit and didn't hand over the documents, ...)  Bottom line was it took over a month for the QC guy to show up and finish the job.  He didn't bring the right tools so I let him use mine.  In the end they provided a solid installation and it works great.  I'm an engineer by trade and I can tell you they did a great job and didn't cut corners.  Getting it done was a little too much like watching the three stooges though.  They also said they would be sending me a gift card for recommending my mother-in-law (thank goodness they got that one right).  They got the gift cards totally confused and when I called to straighten that out they said they'd fix it and never did.  Overall they are honest and hard working, just not a lot of follow-up to finish the job.  Unfortunately, that happens a lot in this industry.

They do good work. They're quick and get the job done in a hurry. It seems like they're well trained. They also have competitive prices.

The absolute worst HVAC company I have ever experienced. They installed the 2 units in our home and they have never worked properly. We have called them every few months and they always have a new theory about what the problem may be. In March, we had extra insulation blown into the attic. While I was up there inspecting the work, I felt cool air blowing on me. The ducts that attach to the unit were all leaking. I called Snellville and they sent someone to repair the leaks 2 days later. (We pay for a maintenance contract because of the constant problems.) I pointed out to the technician that he may need a ladder to reach the higher ducts. He grunted. He left an 30 minutes later. The next day I went up in the attic to check the leaks because the upstairs was so hot. He hadn't repaired any of the leaks. So I called Snellville again. They sent out another technician the next day. I made sure to show him where the ducts were leaking. He was up in the attic over an hour. He assured me when he left that he had repaired the leaks. I couldn't get up there for a few days to check myself, but when I did there where still lots of HUGE leaks. I finally just went to Home Depot, bought some duct tape, and fixed the holes as best as I could. As far as Snellville Heating & Air? If you want it done right, you're better off doing it yourself. You pay for the unit, the maintenance, then it doesn't cool, so you pay, pay, pay for the electricity.

Whenever we've had problems they have been responsive. We've had our contract with them for several years now.
