Awful ... She died ... Please be careful!! WOODLAND'S CLEAR NEGLIGENCE KILLED OUR DOG!!!...Our beloved pet was having problems breathing.(panting like she was in pain). So we took her to our normal vet who isn't 24 hour. They took blood test and X-rays and saw she had some fluid in her lungs and Started her on lasiks and antibiotics. While in the office they put her on oxygen which calmed her but They weren't overnight and recommended Southern crescent emergency clinic vet overnight if she had more problems breathing.( while they waited for lab results). Later that night she continued to breathe heavy so (simply as a precaution) we called the closer vet woodland and took her in at 11 for oxygen. So she'd be comfortable until the next day... when we'd get the results. Woodland's vet saw her and put her in a oxygen tank and recommended we go ahead and do her blood work there again. ( Since they could get the results then and would know then if they needed to start treating anything like pneumonia immediately ). Pointing out time could be of the essence.... WE AGREED!!!! Of course we wanted to know then if she had an Infection like pneumonia ( so we could start treating her ) and paid the extra $200 to do another blood test then for the immediate blood work results. 20 minutes later the vet came in and told us our dogs test came back completely normal and that everything looked fine. We then specifically asked about her white blood cell count and was told it was normal and that it couldn't be pneumonia , woodlands vet said most likely this was a rare heart condition ...even though she had no murmur....or cancer and that our normal vet would tell us tomorrow from the X-rays that had gone to a specialist. That morning our regular vet called immediately and said monkey's white blood cell count was elevated and to bring her in stat for antibiotics. We told them we'd taken her to woodland (as a precaution) and that we were told by Woodland her blood results looked normal. Our regular family vet (brookwood) said they aren't normal and that she needs antibiotics stat , so we went to woodland to get her.... when we got to woodland they wouldn't let us back to see her and left us waiting. We asked then immediately for a copy of her blood test to try and understand what was going on. They printed it out and the blood Test Clearly show monkey had BOTH elevated red and WHITE BLOOd CELL count. We pointed it out and asked the lady who gave them to us why we were told the opposite. She said she didn't know she wasn't their last night and had no idea how they missed that!!!! We then asked again to see monkey our pet and still had to wait. When they brought her out close to 1. She was breathing so hard and clearly in complete distress!!!!!! She had gone downhill drastically overnight while in Woodlands care and supposively on oxygen ) Heartbroken , as she was now clearly in visible critical distress we rushed her to our vet. She died about 45 minutes later after getting to our vet who immediately started her on antibiotics to fight the infection. IF WOODLAND HAD SIMPLY BEEN ABLE TO READ THE EMERGENCY BLOOD TEST THEY RECOMMENDED and CHARGED US FOR ....TO KNOW WHAT TO TREAT!!!!! THEY WOULD HAVE KNOWN SHE WAS FIGHTING AN INFECTION and COULD HAVE STARTED HER ON IV ANTBIOTICS THEN!!!!!! This is why we brought her woodland to an emergency vet and paid extra money for a blood test then!!!! . MONKEY ONLY DIED BECAUSE OF WOODLAND'S COMPLETE NEGLIGENCE and INCOMPEtENCE. The hard part is we PAID $200 ($700 total) for the EMERGENCY BLOOD WORK and they didn't even read it!!!!!!!! I'm Heartbroken and beyond mad we didn't listen to our normal vet and drive the distance to southern crescent... Our sweet monkey paid for it with her life. :( and to top if off they brought her out clearly with her in duress!!! We have no idea what they did to Her...Please please be careful!!!

We took her once and then she was home a little bit. Then we had to take her back and she stayed there a couple of days. Then we got her home and had to take her back. They are like an animal hospital for real.  They have emergency services and they are open 24/7. That's the main reason I took her because there were no vets open on a Sunday. She was pretty bad. She was throwing up. My feelings about them are kind of mixed right now. I am not sure how I feel about them. They are good people and have expertise in what they do, but they are kind of expensive and I feel like they push to get you to spend more. They ran all kinds of tests after we took her there and I had to open up a line of credit for, like, $4,000. They went through all that. When I brought my cat there the first time she was really, really sick. They did not think she was going to make it. They had people waiting there to take her right on to the back. The wait time was really bad because they are really busy and they have emergencies come in all the time. I did a walk-in the last time I was there and I was there 3-1/2 hours before I even saw anybody. A few days later I had an appointment and I was there four hours before I saw anybody. To improve they could, some way or another, cut down on the wait time. It is not like they are relying on experience so much, it is like they want to run all these expensive tests. I think they should cut that out. Most of the people in there are young so maybe they could have some more experience there. We took the cat there for the first time last November. Their responsiveness was pretty good. They even have visiting hours so I could see my cat.

They are easy to get an appointment with. My dog had her first tick. They just took it off and they did not charge me anything. They showed me how to deal with it going forward. They are priced reasonably and they are great with animals. I am going there for a visit next week.

My dog had an irritation and possible bladder infection so bad she was limping. We had just moved up from Florida 2 days before so she had been licking due to stress. Dr Kate was great she explained everything before she did it and gave me options once she determined what was wrong with my dog. The office was so nice and very professional. I will be a permanent client with both dogs.

The doctors are very personable. They do get to know our animals one on one. They have really good bedside manner for a veterinarian. They have really good manners with the dog. My dog doesn't trust a whole lot of people, but he trusts them. I don't feel ever bad asking questions. They never make me feel stupid for asking questions. They are very thorough with making sure that I understand the answers they are giving me.
