Called at high recommendation of a neighbor. Was able to schedule quickly. On morning of appointment they didn't show on time so after a half hour I called the office. They had to try and reach them and then call me back; told us the guys had gotten locked out of their vehicle but would be on the way soon. Two guys arrived; the older one kept asking the other one, a very young guy, questions - made it seem like he didn't know what he was doing*. Also they made some suggestions that made no sense. I had one price told to me when I had booked the call for snaking but was then given a higher number on site. I believe they wanted $275 to snake the drain. Wasn't sure if they were going to snake from the sink or the main drain. We declined as seemed high in comparison to others we've used and at this point we didn't feel they were that competent. They did call the owner after we'd already declined, to try and get the job, and got authorization to drop it a little but at this point we had lost confidence. Rented a rooter from Home Depot and did it ourselves for less than $100. - * The office called while the guys were here to make sure they arrived; I was told that the one guy was just brand new/first day on the job with them, but he was a master plumber. Seems like it was just a combination of bad communication and experiences that day; my neighbor had said the owner is really good and I had expected him to come out as that's who I called. We usually pay $99 to $129 to snake a drain at our rentals, $199 for two drains.
