WEATHERSBY GUILD

We were looking for a furniture repair company that could come to our house to repair a few items. Another company recommended Weathersby Guild. There was a slight mix-up with the amount of time needed, but the company worked to get it corrected and we are very happy with the work done.

He repaired a damaged base to a china cabinet on his initial visit, which he took about an hour to complete.  He was very meticulous and his repair left the damaged wood looking like new.  He sent in an assessment on the damage to the other two items and they later approved repairs he recommended to a leather chair and a folding card table chair.  The folding chair just needed some badly scratched areas repainted, which he did.  The leather chair recliner (our favorite chair) had about 8 punctures in the back.  We were sick about the damage, and worried that they would not be able to match the blue color of the chair.  We assumed that it would need to be replaced entirely, or try to have someone replace the back panel to the chair with a matching piece of leather.  It needed to be done right, because it sits in an open area of a great room with the back in full view.  To our surprise, Chris used a  leather repair expert who was able to repair it satisfactorily.  The repaired spots are barely visible to us, because we know what happened, but they are so subtle that no one else will notice them.  A much better result than trying to find a matching piece of leather or fighting with the movers about replacing the chair entirely.  We looked into replacing the chair but could not find anything like it in the same color to match our decor.  We're happy with the outcome.

Overall, the experience was very positive. They provided pickup and delivery, but my husband opted to deliver it himself. He called me after he dropped it off to tell me how impressed he was with the furniture in their workshop. Everyone we dealt, mostly Kent (through email, which is my favorite way to communicate) was very polite. Kent always responded to my emails timely. We will definitely use them in the future.

I e-mailed a picture of the original piece and got an estimate right away! Once I scheduled the pick up, Steve Bentz arrived right on time (on the weekend!). After about 5-6 weeks I called to see how it was going and they told me the piece was ready to be delivered. Steve brought it in and put it all together again arriving when they said he would.

Superb overall experience. Mr. Weathersby repaired furniture that was damaged during our recent move. He is a consummate professional and has our battered furniture looking just as good as new. He was also kind enough to explain the refinishing/repair process so that I can tackle more minor damage myself (I have 3 small kids which equals lot of knicks in the all the woodwork). I can't give enough accolades to Mr. Weathersby nor more highly recommend him for woodwork repair. He's DEFINITELY the type of professional you love to find through Angies List.
