Georgia Oak Landscaping

Georgia Oak replaced the old timber retaining walls around our neighborhood playground and tennis courts with stacked block walls. We were very happy with the results and found Georgia Oak to be very easy to work with, responsive and attentive to detail. Highly recommend. Brandon showed up on time and gave us the estimate right on the spot which was a pleasant surprise. It was also a firm fixed price estimate. We were satisfied with their price and quickly made the decision to proceed. They handled submitting the building permit and the inspections. In our case, we needed a survey and engineering drawings which they also coordinated. The entire process was very smooth. They scheduled our project in a timely manner. Carolina, Candido and the entire crew were a pleasure to work with throughout the process. They were quite flexible to adjust design details along the way without any talk of additional cost.

I hired Georgia Oak Landscaping to replace a retaining wall on my property. The old wall was made of rotting railroad ties, and they replaced it with concrete paver blocks. I am very pleased with the work that was done. Brandon (the owner) is responsive and easy to work with; the work was completed promptly; and the finished wall looks great. The company's quoted price was also very competitive among the four bids that I received. I would definitely hire Georgia Oak again for future projects. This company charges $35 to give an estimate, but the fee was subtracted from the initial deposit when I decided to hire the company. Very highly recommended.

Exceptionally fast and responsive! Great prices, very knowledgeable, one of the best local businesses we've ever worked with. Georgia Oak Landscaping did our retaining wall replacement on our rental property in Lilburn, GA while we reside in Miami. Being a rental property along with being out of the state, it was very difficult to get an estimate. I wish we would have contacted Georgia Oak Landscaping in the beginning. We struggled for 6 months trying to find a retaining wall company, because several companies didn't answer, companies that did answer never showed up, and the companies that showed up didn't provide a price. GOL answered, showed up, and provided a price within a few days of us intailing contacting them. They completed the job in 2 days. Brandon, the owner, sent me videos, pictures and was always available when we had questions. Thank you Bradon and Arturo for your professionalism.

My wife and I are well pleased with the work Georgia Oak Landscaping did for us recently (July 2019). We needed a driveway retaining wall, smaller landscape retaining wall and decorative bed edgers/walls at the driveway entrance replaced. Brandon Shaw, the company's owner, was very professional and knowledgeable in helping us determine the type of effective retaining walls in each instance to use and still stay within our budget for this project. He was prompt to respond to our request for an estimate, and to any followup questions we had. His crew did a thorough job, and made sure we were satisfied with their work before leaving. The final price for the work performed was very reasonable, and was more than competitive with an estimate we received from another company. We would certainly consider Georgia Oak Landscaping for any future landscaping or retaining wall projects. To have an estimate done will cost $35, but that price is credited to the final bill should you choose to hire Georgia Oak Landscaping. For us, it has been money well spent.

Excellent work. The guys worked in the rain most days and always started early and stayed late. Brandon listened to our input and returned calls promptly. Our wall is beautiful!

I called several hardscaping companies to get an estimate to replace existing railroad-tie steps and walls with concrete block, and Brandon was the only one who was immediately responsive. He showed up at the scheduled time and gave me an estimate that day. His excellent crew completed the work the following week and did a fantastic job. The steps were tricky and required a good bit of cutting and fitting. I couldn't be happier with the result.

Meeting the owner of this company went well. He promised all kinds of things. It was a case of "over promise, under deliver." The work he did was fine. However, I feel a good vendor will do 100% of the job well. If you hire this company besure you get every single last detail in writing. Follow up with the work everyday and do not pay in full until the work is done to your satisfaction.

Where do I start? Brandon has been so gracious and very professional with us!!!! We initially called him out for an estimate around the beginning of August 2016. He came out, evaluated the property and gave us an estimate right there on the spot! (other providers took at least a week to respond to us) Brandon wrote out his proposal, gave us ideas, shared a catalog of different materials that he could use etc... we were very satisfied with his proposal. Unfortunately, at that time, we chose to go with another company who promised to use a different type of landscaping material called reddi rock (which is heavy duty prefabricated concrete that is used to build highways and commerical properties). To say the least... that turned out to be a three week nightmare and we ended up calling Brandon out again for a second time. This time our yard was in total disarray from the previous contractor. Brandon felt our pain, empathized with us and even gave us a break on his initial price because of the horrible experience we had endured at the hands of the other person. I cannot express myself enough to ANYONE reading this!!! How happy I am with his team! They worked tirelessly, meticulously and diligently making repairs to the yard, erecting the retaining wall, pouring concrete, leveling and mulching our yard. It looks immaculate! He called us everyday, asked us if there was anything we needed to revise, he was available and responsive. I would refer him over and over again!

The work went very smoothly.  They were easy to work with regarding scheduling while we waited for the neighborhood association to review the work ( a requirement in this area).  Once we had it set up, they arrived on time and worked straight through the day until finishing about 5pm.  The wall looks great and we have had several compliments from neighbors.  I would definitely use this company again.

Outstanding job.  From the start - thorough understanding of my wants/needs.  Professional feedback and suggestions to enhance and provide the best fit for my application.  Negotiated a fair price, based on my pricing of other contractors.  Executed the project in a timely manner with high attention to detail.  Followed up to ensure the project was done right and to my satisfaction.  Very professional, and I am going to use them again on a larger project in the future.  I would recommend them to anyone.

The owner provided a written quote right away. This ended up being the only quote we received since the other contractor that came out, never submitted one.  The owner was very cooperative in providing information required by our HOA. The job was scheduled and the crew arrived on time and completed the work in one day.
They took down 2-3 sections of the fence, built a 20 x 4 ft wall with drain boxes in front, and put the fence panels back in place.
I would definitely use them again.

It took a little extra effort on my part to get the work scheduled. But once scheduled Mike (the owner) and his crew showed up when they said they would. The crew worked everyday for two weeks except Sundays and one rain day, anywhere between 2 and 6 people depending on what was being done that day. Mike was there everyday checking on the job and making sure it was done correctly. When not there he was easily accessible by phone. Clean up was good. The yard looks fantastic. Drainage is as expected, wall looks beautiful, and the sod is unbelievably healthy and really took off well and established itself.

They do really outstanding work. It's a pretty big project. The quality of the work is excellent. I haven't had anything negative happen. They called me back immediately when I first contacted them. The next day he was at my house to take a look at the site. Brandon even took me to two job sites that he was presently working on to show me the quality of his work.

The day of the job which was a Tuesday, his crew of 4 came promptly at 9 am. Only one spoke English, Arturo, and that was limited. They worked all day and completed the project about 6 in the evening. Brandon called during the afternoon saying that he would not be able to come by to review the work but would come the next day and to give the final payment to Arturo. I did so, The next day I called Brandon to ask when he would be arriving. He was there within the hour. I had two concerns. The dry well when it was dug was not centered in front of the flower bed. Esthetically, it need to be expanded on one side to correct this. The other concern was that when the sod had been laid, the ground underneath was not leveled properly and some pieces of sod were higher than the others. It looked and quot;lumpyand quot; in spots.
I discussed the problems with Brandon when he arrived. He understood about the drywell being expanded. We decided on an additional price to do this. With the sod he told me that next year I should buy some sand and spread it over the sod and that should take care of the problem. (But didn't just give you $3,400.00?) However, he would have his crew come back the following Saturday or Monday to work on the drywell area and also roll the sod to try to level it out. No one showed up on Saturday or on Monday. On Tuesday, I actually completed the work on the drywell expansion myself. Brandon call on Wednesday to apologize. I explained I had done the work myself on the drywell but still needed to have the sod rolled. He stated he would have someone from his crew come that day. That never happened and I have not received any other calls from the and quot;lumpyand quot; Georgia Oak landscaper as we now call him.

Even though my job was a small landscaping job Brandon came out and gave me an estimate and advised me when he could get the work done. He gave me a day's notice when he scheduled the job and told me the approximate time he would be at my house. He and his helpers showed up on time and did an excellent job. He was a pleasure to work with and I would call him for any additional work I ever needed to have done.

I am very pleased with the work. Brendon introduced me to Arturo yesterday when he stopped by to explain the specifics of the work. Arturo more than satisfied me with his workmanship. The replaced gate had never opened easily. It now works perfectly. The rebuilt retaining wall perfectly matches the rest of the wall. In spite of an afternoon thunderstorm that I thought might delay the project, Arturo waited out the brief storm and finished replacing the sections of the privacy fence. Before the fence came down for the driveway work, the gate had warped and hung crookedly. That gate now hangs neatly.
I am very pleased with the work and would happily use this company again. Some landscaping contractors seem reluctant to take small jobs. Brendon seemed happy to take the job and I certainly feel it was given careful attention.

We were very happy with the work, Brandon was very professional and very easy to work with, his workers were also the
same and the work was done on schedule. The only hiccup was that the caps for the top of one of the walls they had run short and were not able to get the exact color but they did match it very closely. We would use this company again.

First off, we knew that this was going to be a large job and we needed someone who was reputable and familiar with these sinkholes. Brandon Ga Oak was professional from the start. And let me tell you my husband can drive a hard bargain! My husband likes things a certain way, however he was very happy with Brandon. We appreciated Brandon being upfront with us, as well and setting expectations letting us know what he could do and what he couldn't do from the initial estimate. So he was definitely on our list of companies , when needing to repair a terrible sinkhole in our backyard. Most of the estimates we had gotten from other companies we're pretty qualified. The reason we ended up using Brandon, he seemed like the kind of guy that would be easy to work with had we run into any issues.

Once they started the project they were incredible to work with . Showed up on time called and communicated throughout the project. I can tell you Georgia Oak was great to deal with. Incredible would not be selling them short... it looks amazing! Our family BBQs will take a turn for the better. We are just dying for spring to get here. We can finally enjoy our back yard ! Happy family in Lilburn...

The main thing that they do is retaining walls, but he also does grading and drainage. I wasn't aware of that initially, so i called him to see if he knew of anyone that did the drainage and grading. When Brandon came to look at the job, his quote came back for HALF of the price for the other company. He added topsoil, graded, seeded and strawed my entire yard, and also cleaned up debris from having trees removed. They did a great job and were very personable. The price was terrific and they worked quickly. Brandon is now my go to yard guy and I am actually going to be using his services again for a retaining wall.

This was our 4th company to provide us with an estimate for this project. Our 1st contractor was from AL...I cannot recommend him. In July, we paid $3000 to his choice of engineer. The 1st week in September, he graciously quoted us the total package (including a patio) for the price of $125,000...our market value in this neighborhood is about $125,000. Why would we spend the same amount of money on a yard when the house is the same price? I asked him 2 times for a ballpark figure, which he would never provide. We grew somewhat impatient after 2-3 months and began to contact other retaining wall contractors. The 2nd one was out of our area, but still gave an estimate of $35K-$40K. He also explained that his cost would be somewhat inflated due to the mileage requirements. The 3rd company gave us the run-around and after 2 visits, emailed us that he didn't have the equipment to do a proper job. The adventure continues as we received a Savvy Shopper in our mailbox and saw Georgia Oak's ad for a free estimate. We thought, can't lose any more money/time/sleep, and put a call into Georgia Oak. ARE WE GLAD WE DID??? OH MY WORD, YES, YES, YES!!! Brandon came to our house that same afternoon, took some measurements, and WITHIN 30 minutes gave US A QUOTE that worked for our budget! He also said that 10 good weather-working days should be required. He was right on the number of days. We were glad that when the sod was laid, that it rained the very next day! Timing is everything. Carlos and his crew worked in sync as we have NEVER seen before! The grading work went smoothly, the gravel and dirt loads were delivered at the end of our driveway as we had specified.



In summary, Georgia Oak gave a reasonable estimate. Project date from beginning to completion was accurate. None of our other prospective contractors were willing to do this. We also did not pay all up front. In fact, our last payment was made the day after the job was completed. Brandon and Carlos came over to do a and quot;walk-throughand quot; and to make sure that we were happy with the job. We cannot say enough praises for Brandon, Carlos and the crews. Thank you and we will definitely call you next year!

They did a beautiful job - everything looks great. The concrete patio was a little sloppy when first completed, so Brandon promised to come back and make it right. He initiated several calls for scheduling a come-back day, brought a professional mason to do the work, and resurfaced the patio with flagstone. Very professional, easy to work with, considerate and eager to keep his promise. Excellent job!

From start to finish they were a joy to work with providing more than we asked for for the price agreed to.
