S&S Roofing & Construction

S&S sent a salesman to our house to assess damage to some rotting wood on our carport. The salesman told us we had hail damage to our asphalt roof shingles and that our flat roof was also damaged. He said the flat roof needed to be replaced ASAP and that he could get us insurance money to fix it. We got money from our insurance co. for the damaged shingles and we used it towards "repairing" the flat roof. The flat roof was not covered. He told us of a guy that S&S used for their flat roof clients. We paid them the money after they said the roof was fixed. They took advantage of me and my wife knowing my current medical condition and her pregnancy thinking we would not physically be able to check their work. We still have the same leaks and the roof was never properly fixed after paying them $4,500. The salesman performed all of these repairs telling us he was a licensed roofer (he isn't). We have also been told recently that he was terminated from the roofing company the day he originally came to our house, yet S&S never told us this. When we contacted S&S about the issues, the owner wanted nothing to do with it because his salesman did all of this work under the table and he never received money for the job. This is a very abridged version of what happened, but the bottom line is S&S never informed us they had terminated the salesman that did all of the work on our roof, and he stole our money without ever fixing the roof. Now they will not take responsibility of properly repairing the roof their salesman caused. The owner violently screamed at me on the phone refusing to have any involvement.

They were suppose to come back and fix the shingles around the fire place.The ridge vent need to be replaced, or fixed.

They were supposed to finish around the chimney and lay down the shingles.

lUCKY FOR ME MY SON COULD SPEAK ENOUGH SPANISH ENOUGH TO RELAY OUR THOUGHTS . WE PURCHASED SEVERAL EXTRA MODS WE WANTED INCLUDING SOFFIT AND VENT VINYL COVERING AND THEY TOOK SPECIAL ATTENTION TO SOME CRITICAL ITEMS FOR US. MIKE WAS WAS VERY FAIR ON THE COSTS OF THE EXTRA WORK.

It was done quickly and efficiently..After it was done they came over and we went around the house to make sure we were satisfied with work.

Sand S was not immediately responsive to my request for quote. They did not have a representatives that could come out within the next 2 weeks according to the office representative. They would call me back to schedule an estimate, which did not occur.
After receiving a quote from another company, I called Sand S back approximately one month later. They were apologetic about dropping the ball and send someone to the house right away.
The representative arrived as scheduled, viewed the leak in the ceiling to determine the approximate area on the roof for inspection. Using his ladder, he inspected the roof and took pictures of specific shingles and areas with damage. We was able to show me the actual damage and took time to explain what he saw. A+ for communicating with a customers who is not roofing literate. We discussed the options of repairing the leak by replacing only a section of the roof and replacing the entire roof. He pointed out their company could not warranty a patch. I appreciated an honest response.
When I asked for a quote for roof replacement, he went back on the roof, took measurements and calculated an exact estimate for replacement with 30 year architectural shingles. The estimate was for replacement of the entire roof plus the carport and was $1,000+ less than their competitor. More for less!
I chose Sand S to replace my roof. The representative called to tell me when they could schedule it, which was within 2 weeks. He notified me when the shingles would be delivered (the day before work began). He advised that they would have a 20 person crew and the entire roof would be replaced in one day.
I went to work on the scheduled day and came home to a new roof. The roof looked great and my yard was cleaner after they replaced the roof than after my yard man cuts the grass. They cleaned up not only the yard but blew off the carport and patio moving the patio furniture and outside items to clean up debris, rolled up my door mat and neatly left everything.
I would highly recommend them to others.

Andrew and team were trustworthy, punctual, cleaned up during the job (however, they will cover tire damage should they miss something). Well done.

went very well, getting scheduled in was a trick because of all the rain we have had. out of the contractors control. The roofing crew was awesome, and very meticulous in their work and the clean up. They completed my roof in a little over one day, which just amazes me.

They came out and did work for 2 days, and then I didn't see anyone for about a month. During that month, the roof was leaking worse than it did before they came. I called the office, and they said that they didn't have any record of my request and that someone has been stealing signs from their trucks and doing work under their name. But that couldn't be possible, since I scheduled with them in their office. I don't appreciate that he lied to me. Today, they sent another couple of men out to complete the job. They say that it's taken care of, but I won't believe it until it rains.
