John, you recommended this guy and said he was a good electrician which is absolutely correct. You also said he was fair priced which is absolutely not correct. I trusted him too much since you told me he priced fairly etc. I sent you a text of my experience. He priced me $1750 to replace a panel outlet box and I just said put it in. First he told me that Federal Pacific panel company went bankrupt and was out of business because of the panel box in my house. That was not true as they did not go bankrupt and there really was no proof that overall the Federal Pacific panel did not meet acceptable standards. However, there were enough bad reports about the Federal Pacific panels to convince me that what Tommy was telling me was correct enough that i did not want the panel in my house. It was also obvious that the panel needed to be replaced as it was really acting crazy and I would not have wanted it to remain in the house. I am not blaming Tommy for overpricing the job to me as I should have checked the pricing because he charged me about 3 times what I could probably have gotten it put in for if I had checked around for pricing. I sent you a text of what I told Tommy. Tommy told me no one ever complained about his pricing. If so, he must have been giving them resonable pricing. To install a $300 panel and it probably cost him less than $300 and 3 hours of labor for $1750 is beyond a rip-off. $1750-$300= $1450 gives $483.00 per hour which is in line with what surgeons make. I am shocked that he would over price this much after what you said about him and am mad at myself for just assuming his pricing was fair because of what you said about him. After thinking about it I went to HomeAdvisor.com to see how replacing a panel is priced in the Atlanta area. I was shocked when I saw how Tommy should have priced the installation. A high price would have been $1100 in the Atlanta area. Tommy really stuck it to me and I blame myself for not checking his prices and will in the future always trust but verify. I am writing this email to you to let you know you should be telling people that Tommy is a good electrician which he is, but you should warn them that they should check his pricing so they will not be so trusting and an idiot like I was. Having said all this, Tommy is really a good electrician, but the way he priced replacing the electrical panel is beyond a ripoff according to pricing on Homeadvisor.com. The quality of the actual work was really good. In regard to his pricing to others, most likely he was not charging them $483.00 per hour.

Great! I was nervous once I read the reviews, but he was recommended by a trusted friend and I needed the work done quickly so I figured I'd see for myself. He called me back in less than 2 minutes and scheduled my job for tomorrow. He ended up having time today and we were able to get it done! He was polite, professional, and quick (which was good b/c he charges hourly for his time!). And most importantly, very reasonably priced. I hope to not need him anytime soon ;-) but if I do I won't hesitate to call him again.

After about 2 hours he reported that the cameras were placed,1 light was fixed and that the other needed parts (which he ordered) and would be fixed once they arrived.  We had to call him back immediately because one of the cameras was pointed at the sky. He agreed to come back to fix the problem which he did. But that evening when the light that he claimed was fixed didn't work we called to let him know and ask when he could come back he got upset claiming it did work and used very bad language; calling me a "m***********" that didn't know what I was talking about and this f****** job wasn't worth all the hassle. After deescalating the situation he agreed to come back to fix the previously fixed light.  He came the next day and to spite us he bypassed the photo cell that switches the light on at night and off during the day.  He admitted to doing this when we called to inform him the light was on all day. When I told him that we would like the light to work properly (meaning on at night and off during the day) he said that he did that the first time and he would never come back. I asked about the parts for the other light and for a refund, as only a portion of what we asked was completed.  Needless to say he didn't return any of the money we paid.

While doing some basic electrical work tommy or his employee turned off one of our outlets. It was a simple fix. Wether it was him or not he refused to come back and take a look at the issue because he denied he would be at fault for anything. All we were asking was for him to come back take a look. If he was not at fault we would pay him for his time. He called me naive for thinking it was even possible for the problem to be on him. He gave my pregnant wife a hard time making her feel uncomfortable. He was rude. We had to call another electrician to fix the problem. The electrician saw that the panel was put on improperly. We did not touch the panel. Tom denies he is at fault. We feel taken advantage of. We will never go back to him.

Tommy removed the old panel and installed the new one; he was very thorough and there were no surprises.  We would highly recommend him to anyone who needs electrical work done.  The work was done in a timely manner and we were pleased with the outcome.

This was my first experience using Tommy's services.  He is superb in every way.  We will continue using him for all of our electrical and lighting needs, large and small.  He is extremely knowledgeable, efficient, timely, provides logical and safe suggestions, a good communicator, thoroughly cleans the work area and causes no damage to the areas he works.  We look forward to working with him again soon on our master bathroom renovation.  The wheels in my brain are also feverishly working for more wish list lighting for our home that he will do.

From out-of-town I called Mr. Dunaway for help in troubleshooting and fixing a non-functioning porch light reported by a tenant in my house.  He answered on my  first call attempt, accepted the job, and agreed to contact the on-site tenant to arrange an appointment.  The tenant reported  that Mr. Dunaway promptly called him to schedule an appointment, called again en route to verify the time was still good, and not only fixed the light, but noticed and fixed a cracked cover on the doorbell that posed a potential danger of shocking anyone who tried to use it.  Mr. Dunaway was pleasant, knowledgeable, and excellent to deal with on the phone -- something very important to us -- and I was impressed that he took the initiative to notice and fix another problem we had not even discussed.  My tenant was pleased with his experiences with Mr. Dunaway as well, describing  him as "prompt, professional, and courteous."  All in all our experience with the business was outstanding, and I hope that Tommy's Lighting and Electric will be available for any future electrical repairs we need.

I wanted to have a ceiling fan moved but the handyman I contacted thought it would be best that an electrician do it and referred me to Tommy. Tommy was prompt, straightforward and efficient. The work was done is half and hour and that is all he charged me for (not including the initial service fee call of $65). I would recommend him to anyone and will definitely be using him again.

Tommy is A+ ------ We wanted to install a ceiling fan fixture in our master bedroom.  He came (on a Sunday) and did the complete job in under two hours with included placement of the ceiling fan and corresponding electrical wiring through the attic and walls.  Came right in on his estimated quote.
On time and on schedule

Tommy's Lighting is neat, clean, and efficient. The price was right since he is self-employed. I can't find one thing to complain about, and I am going to use him again for ceiling fans.
