The Handyman Pros

Mr. Dorsey’s personality is fine, but he was pushy for a large deposit before the work was preformed. The work was substandard (not flush and leaning), incomplete, and the work site was not treated with respect (left unclean). The amount I paid was way out of line, but I didn’t realize it until afterwards.

Steve appeared to be a really nice guy and from the reviews on The Handyman Pros, we thought we found the ideal handyman. First red flag, as Steve started the job he sent us a change order for $485.00 to change out stop valves. Second red flag, in the process of the repairs Steve broke the Manifold Valve Stem. He said that he would have someone to come and check it out because it was now leaking. This person who was a friend of Steve calls to say he could repair the manifold valve stem for $1200.00! Of course we were not going to pay for that. Then Steve calls to say he would be able to do it for $440.00 WHAT! YOU BROKE IT!!!!! Third red flag, Steve had to remove four rows of tile over the bath tub to check behind the walls for mold and additional leaks, since some of the tiles were already removed we asked him how much additional would he charge to put the tiles on the wall over the tub he said $1700.00!!! I have since found a group of really great guys who charged us $500 total! Another thing, once the job was completed he sent pictures along with a request for final payment. This was on a Friday and we told him we will not be able to get to the property until Sunday and when we have finished inspecting the job he will get paid. He said "That is not good! I emailed you pictures" Really? Please do your research and try not to rely totally on reviews like we did. You don't know who are really writing them. Like the friend who was charging us $1200.00 for a $10 part to fix. There are a lot of wolves out there in sheep's clothing.

It was awful. Not only did he not show up when promised, but he never completed the work. My neighbor and I both used Handyman Pros, and he was not able to complete either of the our jobs. In fact, for me, he promised he would return the next day.....but never did. No explanation; no completion.
Neither my neighbor nor myself will be using Steve at Handyman Pros for any future work. Save yourself the heartache. Go elsewhere!

We were very pleased with the work of Steve from Handyman Pros. He was very professional from the time he came to give us the estimate until he completed the job. He replaced the center piece on the french doors which had some rotting wood at the base. He also Re-caulked the entire door to prevent further damage. We also had water damage to our kitchen cabinets from a leaking refridgerator. The bottom of the cabinets were ruined and had mold damage. So Steve removed the damaged wood, treated and cleaned the area before putting brand new wood in its place. Now the inside of the cabinets look great! What a relief to finally have our kitchen restored and back to normal. We definitely will use him again in the future!

This went great. Promptly provided a quote, and scheduled the work. They asked for a reasonable deposit to get started and the remainder was due upon completion of the work. Showed up on time and finished on time -- extremely professional.

I don't dislike anything. I like the fact that they are convenient. I can call them anytime. I can get satisfaction. No haggling in the price. They give you one price and that's it. I like that concept. They also diagnose the problem.

Steve did a great job at a fair price and worked excellent with my spouse laying out the lighting and exchanging lights!!!

Steve Dorsey was very professional and efficient.  His attentiveness to detail was top notch.  One call truly solved all of my needs and exceeded all of my expectations.
