MARCHAL GENERAL CONTRACTORS

My fiancee (the homeowner) contracted with Marchal General Contractors aka Marchal Remodeling of Atlanta to renovate a kitchen and two bathrooms in March/April of 2017. The contractor completed the kitchen and one of the bathrooms, but abandoned the project prior to completing the second bathroom due to what she claimed was a "lack of respect" being shown to her by the homeowner. The contractor absconded with approximately $1000 of prepaid services for which she has not provided reimbursement. In addition, several incidents of poor judgment and impulsivity occurred resulting in rework, additional work, and cost. For example, the contractor failed to properly measure the width of a vanity she sourced to see if it would fit through the bathroom door. She showed us the vanity, agreed it would work, but failed to verify the measurements. The door molding had to be removed and repaired to get the vanity through at additional cost to the homeowner. On another occasion, the contractor purchased several bags of Quikrete instead of tile mortar, which was the wrong material to lay tile according to the professional opinion of several subsequent contractors brought in to provide estimates to complete the project. Lastly, my fiancee caught the woman rifling through her bedroom belongings. When caught, the contractor claimed she was "dusting", and asked why my fiancee didn't trust her. Are you kidding? Rosie Marchal advertises as an LLC on her business card, yet her LLC is listed as “dissolved” as of May 31 2017 on the Georgia Corporations Division website (ecorp.sos.ga.gov). Marchal has numerous 1-star reviews on her Facebook page, on Yelp, and at least one filed complaint with the BBB. I'm adding to all of that today with this. AVOID UNPROFESSIONAL MARCHAL AT ALL COSTS.

Service went well. One guy did our bathroom did a real good work with tiles. Completely remodel, bathtub, plumbing. It took a little longer but they did a good quality work.
