As part of the painting of the house, if there's rotten wood, they take off the rotten wood and then replace it with new wood. It was subcontracted out.When  I met with him, the meeting itself went well. He came, looked at the house, walks me through and it went well. We had gotten a few other quotes but they were in the middle. I think the other place that we got was Casey's Painting. I think they were on Angie's List too but they were just a little bit higher and they couldn't do the work right away. He sent me a thank you card, very nice. When I called them to say that we were going to go with him, he said to my husband, it was the thank you card, wasn't it? I thought it was a little inappropriate. If you're going to do that, it should be genuine not because you're trying to get the business. I know you're trying to get the business but let's not be obvious about it. They were supposed to start on a specific day, he kept telling me that they couldn't start. I was trying to find out when they would be coming so I can make arrangements to be there when I needed to drop off the paint. Everything was done a lot via text. He kept delaying, coming up with his excuses for his workers like their personal issues which are I don't need to know, this is a business arrangement. Then I found out that the work  was subcontracted out which was not disclosed upfront, granted I should have asked the question, I did not. There were a lot of issues once the subcontractors came which was Joe's Contracting Services. There was a lot of drama between Dustin which is grade A and Joe who is Joe's subcontracting. We would have to hear about this everyday about the payments and Joe's Contracting not getting paid, going after Joe and all this stuff that was going on. My husband finally said, listen, it's between you, we want removed from this situation, we don't need to be hearing about it. We told Joe and Dustin but we would hear about it all the time. When it came to the end, they were trying to schedule the walk-through, Joe was contacting me saying, give the check to me. I was saying my contractor's with Dustin so I need to pay Grade A, you can be there at the walk-through. Then there was drama about the walk-through trying to get them to show up because they weren't getting along. It was a nightmare. the work itself was good. Joe's did a great job painting the house. Dustin had nothing to do with it, he was just the sales person. He should have controlled the situation and he didn't. It ended up, Dustin told me at the walk-through, he couldn't be there because it was his wife's birthday, all this drama. He said it was okay to give the check to Joe made out to Grade A but I gave the check to Joe. A week later, I get a call from Joe saying that he needs to return the check to me because Dustin's going to arrest him for not paying because apparently Joe never gave the check to Dustin. They should have figured it out but they had to bring the check back here and we have to mail the check to Dustin. About a week later, I get a notice of a lien put on my house because Dustin didn't pay Joe for the work that he was supposed to pay him for. The subcontractor put a lien on mu house so then I had to go through all kinds of stuff to get Dustin to pay Joe. It took a month to get the lien. It was just the worst experience from start to finish. Dustin is very unprofessional. He doesn't manage the situation. He apparently doesn't pay his subcontractors so I would not recommend him at all.

This guy (his real name is Joel) was a sub for a contractor that I hired - he constantly BEGGED me not to pay my contractor (Dustin from Grade A Painting) because Dustin apparently owed him $10,000. He wanted to withhold the check from Dustin so that he could get paid, which I did not want to be a part of, but I tried my best to work with him and help him out. He called me and said to go ahead and pay Dustin directly, so I did. The very next day, I get a piece of mail from Joel - HE PUT A LIEN ON MY PROPERTY. That's what I get for trying to be nice and help someone out. Last time I will ever use Angie's list or a business that uses subs.

Working with the original company I was very disheartened to find out the don't do any of he work themselves. But actually subcontract the work. That is something you should ask by the way. If it wasn't for Joe and his crew, I'm not sure how the project would have turned out. But joe was so professional and his workers worked hard and made sure I was happy with the finished product. The original company's owner only talked to me to ask if I like review him on Angie's list.  Joe on the other hand helped fix problems the owner would blow of. Like when the color of the house was way too dark. The owner said it would lighten. Joe explained it would not and that he always suggests getting samples on the house before choosing. That makes sense to me however the owner never gave that option. I'm saying all this because I had two very different experiences. If not for Joe I'm afraid the end result would have been double what I paid to fix. The house looks amazing and I'd definitely hire his crew to come back!

I am a picky person and expect stellar work. They showed up on time both days. They are very neat in their appearance. They are very neat with the work too. They put down plastic. They put things back to the way they were. They did a very good job. They are prompt, efficient, and did an excellent job of cleaning up. The paint looks fabulous.

Excellent job. Joel & company prepped properly. They covered the doorways to other parts of the house with plastic so that no paint or dust would be in other parts of the house. They covered the fireplace brick so that it did not get paint  on it. They covered my hardwood floors with cloth drop cloths and plastic.
I was very pleased with the quality of work. All of the lines were crisp. No paint was where is shouldn't have been.
Joel said it would take 3 days and it took 2.5 to 3 days. He showed up when he said he would -- Thanks Joel. My time is valuable, too.
They worked at least 8 hours a day.
I recommended Joel to a co-worker for exterior painting. She was very pleased.
I will definitely used Joel again.

The entire crew was very professional and meticulous about the job they were tasked to do. It was a pleasure to have them on site.

Joe and his crew are fast but fastidious. They work hard to do things right and how you want them. They are a pleasure to work with. I look forward to my next project with them. I would not hesitate to contact Joe's Contracting Services.

He and his team were so professional. They were on time and cleaned up every day. The house looks great! The quality is perfect. The trim is exact. I would recommend this group very highly.

They were prompt, courteous, and got to work very quickly, wasting no time.  All work was done very professionally, with excellent attention to detail.  In my house the subfloor under the carpet wasn't perfect, needing a few adjustments.  They took care of these unforeseen issues with no complaining or changes to the original quote.  They clearly took pride in doing a great job.  I really appreciated their good attitudes, skill, and efficiency at completing a project with very high standards, even when conditions were not perfect. 

After doing such great work on the flooring, I had them paint the interior, which they did with the same level of quality and professionalism.  I look forward to working with them again on future projects.

Joe and his crew were punctual, trustworthy (I left them alone in my home with no worries), hard workers and extremely neat. Each evening, they cleaned up, replaced furniture they had moved and made sure to let me know when they were coming and going. The painting that they did was fantastic. They repaired areas that needed it and did a beautiful painting job on top. I would highly recommend their services.

Joel and his team did excellent work on my home.  I met Joel at Floor and Decor when he helped me to my car with a load of tile.  I got his card and when I needed my cedar shake on my home repainted, I called Joel.  He came out two days later and gave me a fair estimate.  They say you buy from people you like and anyone will like Joel!  He is very professional, had good ideas and went above and beyond and did not charge me extra for the extra work he did.  My house looks fabulous and I was extremely pleased with Joel and his team's work.  I would highly recommend Joel for any paint work as well as repairs.
