Demolition was on schedule and unremarkable. Wainscoting was installed to wrong height and not true upright and had to be removed and reinstalled. Travertine tile installation was a disaster with too much mastic on floor filling spaces between tiles, uneven spacing, and poor cutting to fit corners and around door jams. Tile installation in shower was worse with uneven placement, use of an un-square piece to frame window and no plan for finishing at edges. Floor and shower tile had to be removed and completely replaced. Unfortunately, the contractor abandoned the job rather than removing and replacing tile. The contractor also lied about plans to remedy the problems. He tried to replace tiles with cheaper ones and claimed he had contracted with a tiling subcontractor to finish the job but the subcontractor was contacted by us and had never heard of or from the contractor.
Description of Work: Removed old flooring, tile, counter tops, and mirrors. Replaced flooring with travertine tile, and replaced shower tile with travertine. Installed wainscoting. Painted, and installed new linen cabinet.
