CLEGG APPLIANCE REPAIR

Mr. Clegg called at about 8:45am and asked could he come then. I thought great, I'd be able to get this out of the way and not spend all morning waiting on someone to show up. He arrived with a helper a few minutes later. He wasn't happy in the very beginning because he did not know it was a stacked combo washer/dryer (which I informed the lady that answered the phone at his shop when I gave her the numbers off the door) The unit is in a large (12'x5') utility closet with bi-fold doors. He started yanking on the doors to remove them and I asked him to please not do that. I have had this style of washer/dryer for more than 25 years and no repairman or delivery man ever needed to remove the doors. The door opening is 5' and the unit is less than 2'. There are shelves built-in around the top and sides about 1' deep. So he started try to pull the unit out without checking the clearance on the side. Both myself and his helper are trying to get him to listen that he is pulling to close to the shelves. At his point I told him I would appreciate it if he did not scratch the sides. Now I decide maybe I should distance myself so I went into another room. I can hear them working and in a few minutes he comes to tell me that it is fixed and the problem is loose and missing screws in the back of the drum. They have caused a shift in the drum that made the coil burn out. While he is showing me this, his phone rings and in his mid-sentence he answers it, no excuse me or any acknowledgement of me of any kind, he just starts chatting with someone. It is obviously personal and something that could have waited until he was finished talking to me, so again I step away. When I hear that he is off of the phone I go back in so we may finish our conversation, he has pushed the unit back into the closet crooked and has bunched up the carpet tiles. I tell him he can't leave it like that and he says my carpeting was installed incorrectly and that the unit needs to stay where it is, he starts giving me all the reasons why. I tell him I would like everything back the way it was before he arrived and he complies. I check to make sure the dryer heats up while he is packing up his stuff and all seams well. When he is ready to go and asks me to sign off on the job I took the opportunity to tell him, I don't believe I have ever encounter a more rude person. The way he talked down to me and to answer a none emergency call while in a conversation with a live person is unacceptable. He is well past the age to know better. I have done a couple of loads in the dryer and it is working but now I can't close the doors to the closet.
