"The deal you bought was $69 for a water heater flush and service call. The deal includes just that, a water heater flush and service call charge. While we were there we also unstopped a shower drain, adjusted and tightened a faucet, attempted to adjust another faucet and found the cartridge was bad. We advised you that Kohler (the manufacturer) normally will send homeowners replacement parts at no charge and that when you receive the parts we can come back and install them, which you chose to do; but never followed up for us to come back. We apologize if there was any confusion or communication error. Please feel free to contact our office to discuss and possibly get this resolved."
He was very knowledgeable about all plumbing areas and was able to diagnose my problem within 20 minutes, and fixed it quickly less than 20 minutes.
He was very quick, professional and courteous during and after the repair. He answered all my plumbing questions.
Original price for the service was a little over $350, but because I found them through Angie's List and purchased the service, the price was reduced to $260 total out of pocket.
BEST thing about Angie's List... the contractors believe in it.
"I am sorry you do not agree with our prices but I can assure you we are very competitively priced in the Atlanta plumbing market. As for the coupon, it is simply $99 for $200 of work. The job was quoted at $279 which you agreed to before any work was started."
"I apologize for the negative experience you had with our company. After speaking with the technician, preventative actions have been taken to prevent this issue from arising in the future. 70% of our work is repeat/referral based. This type of experience is not typical."
The repair man showed up at the very beginning of the window in which they had indicated they would be there which is always fantastic. He too was nice. I explained that I had been able to pinpoint where the leak to the attic was coming from and showed him exactly where it was. He was able to see that the pipe fitting where the leak was had not been properly sealed and that this should be an easy fix.
At that point he informed me that there was a minimum service fee of $200 which was fine with me. I told him that I had purchased a deal through Angie's List which covered $200 worth of service. At that point, he mentioned that there was an extra fee of $25. I had thought he was joking so I didn't really give it much thought.
However, once all the work had been completed and the service order had been written up, I saw that I was indeed being charged an extra amount for what really was 15 minutes worth of work and an absolutely minimal amount of materials. When I explained that the extra charge had not been mentioned when I purchased the deal, he lowered it back to the $200 which he had originally quoted me and was covered by the Angie's List deal. At that point I was satisfied with everything though I did not feel that it was very professional to have tried to get me to pay more. This is the reason that they received a "B" instead of an "A".
That instance aside, I would probably use the company again but I would make sure to ask if there would be any additional fees beforehand.
