Scott Dick, Electrician

Scott was referred to me by a friend who was doing construction & handiman services at the home I am preparing to sell. Scott said he would be at my house between 8:30-9:00 the next morning, but did not show up until after noon, and never called to say he was running late. He performed more than half of the work, and then announced that he had to leave to go pay some bills and take his helper (a really non-professional-looking guy) home. Scott asked if he could get some pay. I was running very low on checks, since I live in FL but had been in town to work on my house for over two months and had been using checks as a paper-trail for all I was doing. So, I told Scott that I needed to pay him with one check, but half-teasingly said not to make me chase him down to come finish the work. He said he would be back "in two hours". Scott never came back that day, nor did he call to say something had come up. He did show up one more time to work, but needed a breaker before he could wire a dehumidifier, so he left to go work nearby and said he would return. Not only have I not seen Scott again, he did not answer when I called him, nor has he answered any of my text messages. The worst part is that he would tell my handiman friend that he was on his way here, so the handiman would show up to meet him, and then Scott would not come, would not answer his phone, or return messages. My handiman friend came three or four times, saying Scott was right behind him, but Scott never showed up. Scott also has not taken or returned any of my friend's phone calls or text messages, either, and my friend considered Scott a friend of his. After waiting for about three weeks or so, I finally hired another electrician to come finish what I had already paid Scott to do.
