Handyman Service
Russel seemed very professional at the start. He had business cards, although we later checked and the address listed on the cards is not his company, but an empty office. Also, the email address listed on the cards and his website is also invalid. His valid email address is the one I listed above. He always responded promptly, and we mostly conversed by text, but a few times by email in the beginning. He was supposed to do more work than what I listed above, but after he'd done the work listed above, he asked to be paid. We paid him for that work, with the expectation that he wasn't quite done with what we'd paid him for. He needed to come back out and touch up the paint, do caulking, and a drain he installed in the shower had bent. He was responsive to my texts about this, but said he was having a busy week. We were busy too, and a month ended up going by, when we noticed the shower he'd worked on was leaking (spots appeared on our living room ceiling, the room below that bathroom, and then the spots starting cracking and molding). I contacted him about this as soon as I noticed it, and he didn't respond. Figuring he was either away on vacation or sick, I continued to text/email/call, about once a week, giving him the benefit of the doubt, for six weeks. Still no response. I was always nice with what I said, telling him I hoped to hear from him and giving him the benefit of the doubt. At this point, the damage could be $1,000 worth. I'm in the process of having estimates done. It's very disappointing, and I want to warn other people so that they don't use his services. The economy isn't good, and my guess is that once he realized he'd lose a day or two in work over this leak he caused, he bailed.
