Mike and his crew did an amazing job landscaping and planting our backyard Japanese garden. Mike helped with the design and was very responsive and adaptable throughout the whole process. We happily refer him to anyone who asks about landscaping.

We hired Mike Willis's company Grow Landscape Solutions to do some landscaping work in our backyard. After consulting with several companies we decided to go with Grow Landscape Solutions since Mike was personable and engaging and also guaranteed his work for a year after it was completed. Once the initial $12k deposit was paid and the landscaping project began, all professionalism stopped. The first issue we noticed is that Michael is never present on the job, he leaves his crew leader and a contracted crew of workers to do all of the work and it is immediately clear that they don’t get along. The crew complains about the leader, the leader complains about the crew and when issues arise, Mike complains about all of them, calling them lazy and entitled even though it is HIS hired crew. The one day that Mike was present on the job he cut the cable line and then tried to blame the cable company even though my husband saw him do it. We paid out of pocket for the cable line to be repaired, Mike never offered to reimburse the cost. There is no proper planning of the project once it begins. When properly installing a landscape design the order in which it is executed is important since elements of the design will get ruined as other elements are completed. For example, Mike had our very expensive black mulch laid down before the sod we purchased was laid so the debris from the sod made the black mulch look a complete mess. Mike charged us for 8 pallets of very expensive (Zeon Zoysia) sod. Our home camera captured only six pallets being laid and the other two pallets were loaded back onto the truck and taken away. When my husband confronted Mike he claimed that he was holding another clients sod in the driveway, basically trying to steal the additional unused pallets. Eventually removing the pallets from the invoice once he understood that we had proof. The installation included a stairway install that required that a small portion of our fence door would have to be cut so that the doorway could open and close. The crew cut about 8 inches off the bottom of the door leaving a huge gap between the door and the newly installed stone steps. We had to have our fence guys make a new door and pay to have it restrained. Again, Mike never reimbursed us for the out of pocket costs. The zeon zoysia sod installation caused the yard to no longer drain properly so, although beautiful, we are not able to enjoy the yard because most of the time it is a swamp. Since the yard is a swamp the patio we had installed is also wet all day and night most likely causing damage to a very expensive Belgrade patio. The other issues we had were trees not properly placed causing one of the trees to die, the crew not cleaning up after themselves, not even power washing the stones they installed leaving the stones and driveway completely covered in mud. It’s important to mention that every issue that we had with the landscaping installation was pointed out by my husband and I….. In other words Mike would have left everything as it was if we didn’t point it out. He isn’t even there most of the time and when we complained about the issues he would shift blame to his crew. Just unprofessional in every way. At this point Mike will no longer answer our phone calls or texts and we are left with a yard that is holding large amounts of water every time it rains. We paid over 20 thousand dollars and will now be forced to pay an attorney to force Grow Landscape Solutions to complete the work. Very disappointing.

It was a complete waste of money. We purchased the service and they only gave us a consultation for the front of the house. They used photoshop to show us what they were thinking and it didn't really tell us anything. We didn't even get a consultation for the back of the house.

Michael meet several times to go over the plans and provide pricing options.  Once agreed to go forward we looked at the display at the supplier and selected the products.  Michael came on site during the construction.  The crew, Mario, Colton and Angel were very hard workers and very friendly.  They did a great job and the walls and stone steps are great.

Everything went well. They were here when they said they would be here and completed the work in a professional manner.

Personnel were very friendly and worked hard to spread the red pine bark around the shrubs. They were professional and replaced everything the way they found it.

They originally contact me and mentioned that they will be coming in 3 weeks, asked if I needed more, to which I said not right now.
They came on time, laid out all the mulch, spread it correctly and left.. Very professional.

It went well.  They spread the product very thick so did not cover as much as I had hoped.  The project went well though and everything looks great!

Our yard was a MESS! We purchased this property and inherited a difficult situation... lots of shade, overgrown shrubs, etc... I contacted Grow Landscape Solutions and Michael quickly responded. He listened to our desires, gave us a custom design (that we loved!!!), prepared the yard like it was his own, installed a quality irrigation system, and managed some concrete work (busting up and replacing part of the driveway). Of course, he also installed trees, shrubs, and ground cover.
You should SERIOUSLY consider using Michael. His prices were fair... not the most expensive and not the cheapest. But we got FAR MORE than we paid for. Michael followed through on his word. He kept the project on schedule, even though this was no easy task. We had 10 days of regular rain, which left his crews at other homes finishing them. But rather than delaying our project, he was in our yard for DAYS, doing tough manual labor with some extra hired hands. I don't know many college grads who physically work as hard as Michael.
Michael is incredibly knowledgeable about plants and design. He has a college degree that over-qualifies him for most yards. He's organized, stays on budget, and keeps his finger on top of all the work. He is responsive to texts and phone calls. He's the complete package... professional, courteous, dependable, and gifted in his craft. We inherited a mess, but now our yard is amazing! We're so pleased with the results and would EASILY use Grow Landscape Solutions again.

They have really great service, did everything they said they are going to do and I highly recommend them. The demeanor of the staff was great. They are all very professional. I used them before and I'll be starting up with a new landscape plan with them in about a month. I have a huge lot and very heavily landscaped lot and I pay $250 a month for bio-cleaning, all of the fertilizing, all the trimming, and total 100% maintenance of an acre. Price doesn't sound cheap but they do well.
