I still owe them money because while they were on the job they messed up enough that I had to hire an HVAC guy to come in and fix the thermostat that they broke but I didn’t want to go back to argue with the guy so I told him I would just pay him the rest of the balance that I owed him. The owners name was Dave. They asked for $200 upfront, whereas I haven’t had renegotiate because they messed up some stuff, so I think I would have paid him about $400 so far and I owe him another $350. If I had more time, I would have had him go back and redo what he did because the finish itself was really unacceptable but I didn’t have time. To me, it wasn’t a good job. They were the ones that did the flooring there originally but they said they had hired the new guys and that’s the reason why the thermostat got broken, water got shorted out and I paid the HVAC guys $450 to repair that on a Saturday. The only people that could have broken it were the flooring people because they were the only ones that were working in the room that the thermostat was. The pricing was a little high for what I paid for.

David Day gave an estimate on April 4, 2012 for the work. He understood that his work included trim, doors, and ceilings. On the scheduled date (4/13/2012), his truck broke down so he was a no show. They didn't show up until lunch time on April 14 and 15. They were at my house until 7 or 7:30 p.m. I showed him the bad work on Friday the 15th. He said someone would fix it Saturday (16th). They showed up at 3 p. m. and were there into the evening. On Monday when I had a chance to get a good look - I was shocked at the sloppy, messy work. They got paint on my floors and porch. Paint was dripped down the wall. They didn't paint most of the doors and the trim. I called him on the 16th, he promised to fix it. We called again on April 20. He said he would be there to fix it May 14th. Now he is not taking calls or answering emails from us.
