Acropolis Painting

I noticed that there was paint on the carpet, bathroom towels, and I was not happy about that. Additionally, the painter sat on my dining room chair in dirty clothes.

He came on time to our home to assess the situation & that day he fixed the drywall situation & bought the supplies needed for the job.  He left his fan directed at the new tape to assure that it would dry evenly.
He came by the next day to make sure the drywall repair was drying properly.
The next day he came to do the painting & worked straight thru to complete the job.
We had no furniture to move, but he helped my husband to remove a large mirror that was screwed to the wall & helped him again  to put it back properly.
He is a very nice person. 

OK overall.
Pros
- Sherwin Williams store did not mix gallon of paint. Painter let me know and waited for me to go get it mixed.
- Painter used sample while I was getting other paint mixed. They were supposed to be the same colors. By the time I got back with the gallon, the painter used the sample on the edging. Then he started using the gallon to finish up the job, and noticed the colors were not the same. He ended up redoing the edging so that both colors matched.
- He not only spackled the rooms before he painted, but he also asked if I wanted other holes/dents in my house spackled as well, free of charge. 
- The painter was thoughtful enough to ask if we wanted holes patched before he spackled and painted the walls.
Cons
- I asked him via Angie's list message if the special I purchase was 2 coats or 1 coat, but he never responded.
- When he came to paint, he said one of the 4 colors needs a second coat and will be an extra charge. I asked him how much, and he said "you tell me." Then he said "$20 is fine, but make the check out to cash."
- In one of the full baths, he left some areas unpainted.
- At the end of the job, I asked if he was going to clean up after himself and he said yes. After he left, I checked each room again and noticed paint splatters all over the trim, floor, shower, doors, sinks, etc. It was better than it initially was but definitely not all the way clean. 
- When I scheduled the service,  I asked the lady how much paint. She said 1 gallon for each color. Then when the painter got here, he said I purchased too much paint.

His first visit, I showed Angelo the room and he quoted $375 for the labor, because the wallpaper had to be removed, drywall prepared and then painted.  He added $25 for moving the furniture, bringing the total to $400.  Moving the furniture back, he broke my bookcase.  
When it came time to settle, he did not acknowledge the $99 that I had already paid to Angis List.  He said the bookcase was only worth $20.  Finally, to get him out of my house, I wound up giving him and extra $100, and he still left claiming I owed him an additional $130.  I am on sorry that I didn't withhold the extra $100 I gave him, or give him the option to replace the broken bookcase.
It was a very distressing experience.

All work was professionally performed. All workers were professional and courteous. After completion of the job my house was left spotless and I would highly recommend Acropolis Painting.
