"The client purchased an Angie's List Big Deal which clearly stated that it would be 1 cleaning tech for 3 hours or 2 for 1.5 hours. The house was previewed and the expectation of the client was greater that what he was told could be accomplished in the allotted time. The Master bath was a challenge (mildew and heavily soiled) and took a great deal of time. The house is over 3000 SQ ft and cleaning the hardwoods did take up another large portion of time. The cleaning techs logged in at 2.25 hours each for a total of 4.50 man-hours...more than 1 hour OVER the time the client paid for with his Angie's List Big Deal. We regret we did not meet his expectations however feel we went beyond what was paid for and he was informed upfront that his "priority list" would probably not be completed."
Dusting was spotty, baseboards were not cleaned. Think that next time I will use a cleaner who a neighbor regularly uses.
"We previewed Mr. [member name removed]' home (twice). As we emphasized to Mr. [member name removed] in our preview - due to the amount of clutter and lack of attention, it was going to be a challange to complete all that he requested in the amount of time that was purchased on our offer. We are proud of the difference we were able to accomplish - staying 1/2 hour longer than was charged - and disappointed that Mr. [member name removed] was not satisfied."
"Thank you and we look forward to helping you with your home!"
"We regret that the customerdid not understand after many communications what the offer from ANGIE'S LIST BIG DEAL actually contained. The offer was to give a new client the opportunity to try our service and see what a difference we could make in a few designated area's of the home. 7-24-2012, the customer called to redeem his Angie's List Big Deal which was to expire on 7-31-2012. He had a lengthy conversation with one of the owners of EcoMaids. He emailed his "coupon" to her and she in turn emailed the the exact copy of the original with contents of the offer back to the customer. She called him and reviewed the offer again. 1. valid for HOMES up to 2500 sq ft, HOMES over 2500 sq ft subject to additional fee 2. In-depth cleaning of Kitchen, LR, Mater BR, Master bath and Entry for $85 normal value $170. 3. Additional rooms/baths can be added for $15 each 4.$15 fuel charge for homes outside of service area We agreed to not charge the $15 fuel charge and not charge for the 5000 sq ft size of his home. (rooms in homes 5000 sq ft are vastly larger than rooms in a home up to 2500 sq ft, therefore take longer to clean) We scheduled 3 maids for 8-3-2012. The customer was not home the day of the cleaning. His adult son was present and instructed the 3 maids to clean the Entry, Guest BR, Full bath adjacent to the guest room, Family room & Dining room. An owner arrived, while they were cleaning to preview the home and discuss a quote...the adult son stated to the owner, that they were NOT to clean the kitchen, only the rooms he told them to clean. He stated the "the other maid" had recently cleaned the kitchen. The customer called and spoke with an owner the following day and complained that we had not cleaned his kitchen. We explained that the adult son had advised the maids as to the rooms to be cleaned...the kitchen was NOT included. Unfortunately, he did not understand and wanted EcoMaids to return and clean the kitchen. The EcoMaids spent over 9 man hours on the visit and also explained that it would take an additional 15-20 man hours to bring the condition of his home up to our standard of an Initial In-depth cleaning. The fee would be $30 per hour per EcoMaid for that Initial in-depth cleaning. The estimate had also been explained to the adult son by an owner of EcoMaids the day of the cleaning (8-3-2012) We have many good reviews and hope that the Angie's List members will read these and know that EcoMaids will make every effort to meet and exceed you expectations of the job we are hired to do. We feel we fulfilled our obligation and went beyond what was defined in the offer to please this customer...we are sorry he reported what he did about our business."
"It is our policy to do a follow up call the day after a visit. Unfortunately, this review was posted the evening of our visit - we have left two voicemails to try to resolve any issues, but they have not been responded to. The service we did for the Member last year was rated as 'outstanding'. We charged a trip fee for that service as they are well out of our area, and informed them of the trip fee again for this service. It took one of our maids over an hour to remove the mildew in the shower. Our visit took much longer that anticipated for 4 rooms. Our Ecomaids NEVER 'try to charge' any extra fee - they do not have the authority!"
"Thank you!!"
Here is the list of good and bad: Before starting, I pointed out the specifics of where we wanted them to focus.
Good
- Effective communication. Used a coupon from angies and paid additional charges for rooms not covered in coupon. The ladies made it in time
- Awesome products - did not leave any smell whatsoever!
- One of the ladies cleaned the top of our kitchen vent hood (which had not been cleaned since installation a couple of years ago). She cleaned it thoroughly with no scratches - impressive!
Bad
- Time management: Spent 2.5-3 out of 5.5 hrs cleaning master bed and bath - scrubbing picture frames!! Talk about priorities. We have a 4 bd/3.5bt house. Paid for cleaning the entire house. They spent only about 2-2.5 hrs for all other rooms.
- After spending 2.5-3 hrs in the master bd/bath, left the back of the vanity lights dirty - the front is clean and the back is untouched!!
- After spending 2.5-3 hrs in the master bd/bath, the shower tile grout still had grime. I was not expecting a sparkling bath - however, this is something that does not take much effort to clean - a simple light scrub with a brush. The lady argued that it woudl not come off. So I showed her exactly how easily it would - then she cleaned it (somewhat).
- After vacuuming the floors, there was conspicuous dirt still left on the floor upstairs and downstairs. This goes back to the issue of time management. If they had allocated sufficient time for all rooms, then they may have done a better job with the vacuuming.
- Cobwebs not cleaned - and this is in areas that are easily accessible.
I made the issues known to Jackie who in turn spoke to the ladies. She (as expected) came up with the standard line of it took longer than expected due to "the condition of the house". This is absurd, and I am not saying this just because its my house - but because, as mentioned before, there are only two, full time working adults - no kids, no pets, so the normal "condition" of the house is far above average. Also, even though we paid for cleaning the entire house, neither of the cleaning ladies mentioned upfront that they would not be able to complete what we paid for in time.
After some discussion, they agreed to spend 30 more minutes and gave us a $20 credit. I am disappointed because it is hard to find cleaning services that use non-toxic products. I love their products, but not their service. And if I they had done a better job, they would have had a regular paying customer - yep, keeping the house in shape is tough with an infant.
"Ecomaids was at this home 2 1/2 hours longer than the anticipated time we allow for a home this size.. It is disappointing that the client is responding on Angie's List 9 months after the visit when our follow up and rebate seemed to satisy all issues 9 months. ago. We recently spoke to the client and she said she would like Ecomaids to come once again as she was having trouble finding a good service. So far, we have not been able to schedule a convenient date, but hope to do so."
"Thank you!!"
"EcoMaids is disappointed with this review. We guarantee our service 100% and after our attempt at follow up calls (3) the client did not report any dissatisfaction with the job we performed. We were honored to participate in the "Big Deal" by Angie's List. Our offer clearly stated that the in-depth cleaning would include 1 living area, kitchen, Master BR & master bath, entry, connecting halls and or stairs for $85. Additional rooms were allowed to be added for $15 per room. He did not add any additional rooms. All of this was explained in detail to him prior to our visit. It was our intent and described by Angie's List that this was an introduction to let EcoMaids show you the difference in the way we clean. Our computer records indicated that 2 EcoMaids were working at his residence for over 2.5 hours (5.2 man-hours) and reported challenges with dog hair and heavily soiled area's...they were proud of the end result of the area's that were cleaned. We would have gladly sent another team back to the client's house had he responded to our calls. His cleaning was over a month prior to him writing his review. We are proud of our association with Angie's List and our hope is other members will read our "A" list reviews and recognize we are also recipients of the 2011 Angie's List Service Award!"
