ROOTER EXPRESS INC

dirt was removed with shovels, 10 minutes, opened tank, it was full, told me i had major problems with the concrete T that keeps sewage from entering field lines, made a big deal out of it like it would take a lot of extra work and would have to be treated, would probably have to dig up line to the house etc. Told me it would cost 2500 dollars, made it sound like it was my only option, i let them do it, watched every move they made. 4 FOOT of 4 inch pipe and a y fitting plus 1 gallon of pelitized chemical later, took them a total of 1 1/2 hours, they charged me 2400 dollars and left. After they were gone i called several other companies that do the same thing and was told that i difenitely got ripped off, and that they were hearing this type story a lot about a certain company, of they which they identified as Rooter express. I called the office and was told that the owner would call me, contacted the plumber who recommended and he called the owner, owner told him he would call me, never has and it has been a month ago. I WOULD CONSIDER LEGAL actions if i thought i could stop them from ripping others off like they did me.

This was to be a repair under a homebuyers' warranty. The technician spent two minutes in my house, then walked outside out of my hearing and called the insurance company and told them that the leak was because of improper installation. Apparently the installation was fine for 54 years, but then caused a leak last week. Because the technician reported that it was an installation issue as opposed to a wear issue, the insurance company denied the claim. He never showed me anything that was improper installation; he just kept repeating that the plumbing was "illegal" and "improper" because it isn't up to current code even though the installation was perfectly normal in 1956 when my house was built. I've requested a new provider through the warranty company for a second opinion. I found the whole experience with Rooter Express to be less than honest.

They sent two young guys to do the job. The installation was good and the water heater works fine. I was a little bothered by the additional cost as it was unexpected.

The technician investigated and then claimed my drainage system was so old and in such poor shape that the entire system needed to be replaced. He waited a full 8 days before submitting the estimate back to American Home Shield. Moreover, AHS took the position that his estimate was too high, so they will send other plumbers out to provide estimates.
