Roofing
After getting several bids to replace our aging roof we decided to sign on with Mr. Sellers because he was $2000.00 under the other bids and recommended by an acquaintance. The contract stated that he would replace the felt and ?replace entire roof with new limited life Arc. Timberline shingles". The old roof removal went off as planned. Then the problems started:
He knew I had an air compressor and asked if he could use it along with his because ?our compressor won?t handle the load?, somewhat surprising.
He ran out of shingles twice before completing the job, not very impressive for a "professional". When he started to put on the ridge shingles (caps) we noticed the color didn?t match. When asked about this he claimed the supplier sent ?the wrong shingles?. I saw that the caps were not even the same brand (Timberline). And he didn?t notice? When the correct caps arrived he was singing the blues because ?those Timberline caps cost me an extra $1000.00?.
At the same time, we were having the roof on our pool enclosure changed by another company. The pool roof was attached to the house roof, therefore when the house roof was completed Eddie would need to come back and complete his job as the pool roof wouldn't be completed until a week later. Eddie even reminded me of this when I paid him, ?you call me and I?ll come back and finish shingling around where the pool roof joins the house roof?. After three days of voice mails I gave up and had the pool roof guy finish the job which cost me extra. And oh ya, we had to order two more bundles of shingles, which should have been covered by Eddie's contract!!
