I was happy with the quote and had heard good things from other people about Jimmy Robinson (owner) and his work, and he is a very nice guy, but I think my job was more complicated than they're used to. My roof had several angles/porches to contend with, a thicker 26 gauge material that the crew wasn't prepared to cut with the tools they had, and it did not go smoothly. I will say that I think for the average metal roof job with normal thickness, I think the crew can do a fine job for you but once you start adding in skylights, chimney penetrations, lots of angles, beware. Also, if it goes like my job, you won't see Jimmy much once the job starts, and he just sends his crew boss over to respond to phone calls/problems/concerns which I found very unprofessional. Pros: Started when they said they would, worked with us on finding the right material and color, cheap Cons: The job took several days longer than I was told it would take and is technically not done still a year and a half later (they ran out of wall flashing and came back several months later to finish and the piece they brought was still 2 feet too short - I withheld $350 and they have never called or come again to finish the job, I should have withheld $2000 or so). The crew boss told me the skylights would be airtight after install, and that I would only need to paint the interior of the new wood frames. After a few months of crazy humidity inside and heating bills and outside noise seemed excessive, I went up a ladder and found 1/4 inch gaps all the way around the skylights and daylight visible. All three weren't caulked or foamed in and it was basically like having 3 windows open for that whole time. I was p*****, but didn't even trust the guys to come back and fix it since their work was so bad, so I didn't bother calling and I did it myself. They had to borrow my tools several times to use to repair theirs, or to use on the job after theirs broke. They ran a magnet around to pick up screws and metal cuttings, but there were still lots of them left in the dirt I've picked up since then (probably unavoidable though to be fair). Lots of cigarette butts around my property from the guys. One crew member was sleeved out with tattoos and I asked where he has his work done, he said jail. (this didn't bother me that much but might bother you). I had to call them back to check all the screws on the roof as dozens of them were too loose (not making contact) or way too tight and were squishing out the seal. I have water leaking on heavy rains where the house roof flows fast onto a porch roof, but again, I don't trust they can fix it right and will do it myself or pay someone else. Again, I think my issues with the job were: thicker than normal material that the guys had to fight to cut, lots of angles and roof surfaces to deal with, and they were over their heads on installing skylights properly. But, if you have a very simple roof and are using cheaper standard thickness (29 gauge) material, I think they can do a fine job for you. If the job isn't quite complete though, hold back lots of money from the final payment or you may never see them again.
