I hired Southeastern Stair Company to remodel the stairs in my home. After discussing the initial work with William via phone, we scheduled a in-home visit so that he could assess the stairs and see what I wanted to do. I had recently replaced my floors with new maple flooring throughout the home so I wanted stairs updated to match the floors in five locations. I also wanted to fix problems with my stair stringers in two places where they were installed poorly when the home was built. William noted all of my requests and promptly sent me a formal estimate after his visit. His estimate was very reasonably priced compared to other companies that I had contacted so I hired him for the job. To match the color of my floor, I provided a scrap piece left over from the floor installation. He used that and was able to get a very good match for the stain on the new maple treads. The actual installation progressed without issue and everything came out looking great. He also was able to fix the stringer issues in my stairs. While he was installing the stairs, he was good about answering any questions that I had about the process. Also, he made sure to get my input for any design decisions that came up during the installation. Overall, I was very happy with his work and I would recommend his company to others for stair remodeling.

I think William Allen of Southeastern Stair Company is nothing short of a miracle worker. He is an expert craftsman when it comes to stairs and carpentry. He created such a transformation that we hired him again to redesign our back stairs, even though we didn?t need them re-done. Our stairs look like they belong in a million dollar home. We allowed our hardwood floor contractor to install our front stairs and were built to be unsafe. I had called another stair company, but they would only quote me over the phone. William answered my call promptly, showed up to my house on time, gave me a quote that was amazing and better than I thought it would be. He gave me a catalog in which to pick out the type of balusters, rails, newels, and type of wood. This is a big deal when refinishing stairs. My stairs are sturdier and beautiful. The quality of the work was excellent and comes with a 3-year warranty. William is honest, professional, a hard worker and meticulous. He made sure that the area was clean before he left each day. After William completed our back stairs, I asked him if he could install a new set of attic stairs and replace my rotted back door and doorjamb. He was able to do those things and the quote he gave me was so much better than a handyman?s. The most comforting feeling is knowing that the stairs are rock solid and well made.

The rails were splintered, not attached correctly, were are not up to code, some of the balusters were upside down and of mixed materials, and most disturbing, the second floor railing was not bolted to the wall, but glued which could have resulted in a horrible, horrible accident. I had called another stair company, but they wouldn’t even come out to the house, they wanted me to send pictures so they could quote me over the phone.
