"Charging a $9.95 service call in no way constitues "ripping someone off" and we have no control over parts that are not in stock and have to be ordered from the manufacturer. You may have gotten lucky by installing a part and not having a problem based on YouTube but what if the part had been defective? What if the part replacement hadn't repaired the problem? What if you installed something incorrectly and burned your house down or flooded your house? When you pay for a repair you are paying for more than parts, you are paying for the experience to install and WARRANTY that part and you are paying for the assurance that the company is licensed and insured and you as the consumer are protected if there is a problem. If it was worth it to you to be completely liable for the repair you completed then that was certainly your choice but to post a review that states our company is "ripping people off" is completely unreasonable, unfair and inaccurate."
They'll be getting all my appliance business from now on.
"Refrigerators have sealed systems and if a refrigerator is low on freon, there is a leak in the system and there is no way to know how big the leak is. When you charge a refrigerator with freon it could last a day, a week, a month, a year or 10 years. There is simply no way to know and as such there is no warranty given. This customer was aware there was no warranty and she still authorized the repair. When she called in we advised we could provide a partial refund and retain a minimum labor charge as clearly the services were performed and authorized and there is no warranty as explained. The customer demanded a full refund and we simply could not issue a full refund. We issued the partial refund as promised on January 5th and I cannot explain why she has said otherwise. Credit card procedures mandate that any refunds must be issued back to the credit card and cannot be issued by check. My company has not lied or misrepresented our services in any way."
