I had a circuit breaker that kept tripping, so I called Zapata's because they were the ones who initially wired the house (and did some switches incorrectly--but that's another issue that was resolved). The technician showed up and without even measuring current draw determined in about two minutes that the breaker was overloaded. Because the circuit included the front porch and foyer (something I didn't realize and a poor design IMO), I conceded that it *might* be overloaded with the Christmas lights, even though in the six years I've lived in the house it's never been a problem. After Christmas, I had the same problem and asked them to come back out. They wouldn't come out without charging me again, even after I explained that the problem still existed after I removed the supposed problem. They said they'd come out and if the technician was wrong before, they wouldn't charge me. Seriously??? What kind of self serving proposition is that? Of course he wouldn't be wrong! He was so cocksure the first time around and had little patience to speak with me (though he did have time to try to sell me a new line and breaker). I bought a current meter and tested it myself. I can't find any overload, though there is a laser printer that *could* be causing the breaker to trip because of its peak current draw, but that wasn't what the technician said. He blamed it on the Christmas lights and a generic overload condition. He was also kind of condescending, even after I told him I was an electronic engineer and know a little bit about electricity. I asked him if it could be the breaker itself. Nope! Not that. I won't be using Zapata's ever again. All they had to do was come out and look at the problem again without charging me. It wouldn't have taken five minutes because that's how long it took the first time. I think I was clear about the problem and that the diagnosis was hasty and presumptuous. It was a diagnosis, so it wasn't like I was trying to get something free. I just wanted it done properly.

They said they'd have to tear holes in drywall all the way up a two-story wall. I said no, never mind and they ended up changing the speed on one of the fans. Were at my house for about 10 minutes. Got a bill for $98.00! I called and told them they didn't do any work and they reduced it to $88.00. I don't believe I got $98.00 of service. Won't call them for any future work, that's for sure. The only reason I didn't give an F is because the guys who showed up were very nice. The problem's with the owner.
