Having trouble starting truck, we thought it was the ignition. Took it in and mechanic checked it out and found it was the fuel pump needed to be replaced.  We called our trusted mechanic who is now in another town to ask about the price quoted to us.  He concurred with the price.  The next morning we left the truck with the mechanic and he called us about 2:30 when the job was  completed.  Truck has been starting first time since with no more problems.  The mechanic alerted us to a couple of thing that will probably need attention in the near future.  Not pushy, just a "heads up" fyi.  Truck is a 2001 GMC model.
