The problem I had was that, when I made the appointment, I had confirmed that this was the second of my annual check ups and was, therefore, free, except for the filter replacement. I take a large (20 x 25 x 5, Merv 16) filter and was prepared to pay for the filter. I had gone online and determined that the original parts replacement filter would cost between $95 - $100. This was no surprise because that had been the cost in the past. When it came time to pay I was surprised that the filter was a generic and cost me $165.00!
I called Waters Mechanical and asked them why, if the service call was free, was I being charged an extra $65? Their answer was, "That was the charge for the filter installation!"
INSTALLING A FILTER IN MY UNIT REQUIRES OPENING A COVER BY PULLING IT OFF (NO SCREWS OR SPECIAL TOOLS), AND SLIDING THE FILTER IN.
A four year old could do this with NO problem at all!
I will not be using Waters Mechanical for anything else, ever.
After running my own numbers we decided to get the new equipment from Waters Mechanical. The workers showed up on time and were very careful not to drag dirt or grass into the house. They worked non-stop throughout the day so we wouldn't be without air conditioning that night.
One of the perks with buying this system was 12 months interest free and a rebate from Lennox. When the bill arrived from Wells Fargo it included interst. I contacted Wells Fargo first who required me to provide proof of the payment agreement. I didn't have anytning except in our contract with Waters Mechanical so I contacted Jared who discovered that he had been given the wrong promotional code. He contacted Wells Fargo who modified the agreement and extended our payment horizon a couple months. I also queried about our rebate and Jared followed up on that and we received a check within a few weeks.
The system has been great. It is much quieter than our previous one, and our electric bill for August was $100 less than the previous year.
