In the last 4-5 months, the scheduled recycling pickup was hit or miss. In the last 2 months, they missed the recycling pickup 3 times out of 4 or 5. When I called to complain, I got a LOT of attitude from the woman who answered the phone. I complained that I was tired of paying for a service I was not receiving, and she responded back that I didn't pay for recycling pickup, it was provided as a free service. So I asked if I could cancel my trash pickup but keep my free recycling pickup? You can guess how that went. I then asked to speak to a supervisor, and he was more professional. I stressed that all I was wanted was for them to pick up my trash and recycling on the scheduled days. I was assured they would do a better job. When they missed 2 more recycling pickups, I canceled the service and was told to make sure the cans were empty for them to collect. I explained the recycling can would not be empty since they had missed the last pickup. A week went by and the cans were still sitting on the curb, the recycling can was still full. It took 7 more days and two more calls to get them to remove them.
I changed to a different service that cost less, is courteous on the phone and so far, has picked up on schedule. I'd never switch back to Red Oak.
With the past freezing weather, I was notified that they would not pick up our garbage on our regular pick up day and would not pick up our trash for the entire week. Normally during a holiday week, they pick up our garbage on the following day. I called requesting either an additional pick up for that week or a credit on my account for services that I won't be receiving. The very rude customer service rep informed me that was not an option and that the "owners" just decided this was the way they were going to handle it. I asked to leave the "owner" a message voicing my concerns. I have yet to hear back from them. I called back and asked again why they could manage to work in a different pick up day during a holiday week and the again rude rep stated that is just the way the owners were going to handle it and she ended up hanging up on me. I then emailed the owners through their website asking for a call back to discuss my concerns. I stated I would be switching my company if I did not receive any satisfaction regarding this matter. No one has contacted me. Trash is lined up along the streets of my neighborhood, blowing around in the streets thanks to these "owners" decision. I have overlooked the rude customer service reps in the past, the fact that my garbage has been picked up the following day on several occasions during a non holiday week, and having witnessed my recycling being picked up by the regular garbage truck. This is the last straw. I have been a customer of this company for many years but will be terminating my service with them. I would rather pay more for my sanitation services from a company that actually appreciates my business. Terrible customer service!!!!! Do NOT recommend.
