"While we are always here to help with your electrical issues we are also concerned about your safety. This is a situation where we were originally called to install a disconnect for a spa, but once we arrived we could not install the disconnect due to faulty panel and obsolete parts. We discussed this with the homeowner and agreed to install the new panel, a new 240V 50A spa disconnect, and a new 120V outdoor circuit. The original panel was installed incorrectly, as the base of it was less than 1 foot off of the laundry room floor. This is an immediate safety concern. When discussing relocating the panel to the proper height the customer was informed that the quote did not include sheetrock work as we are licensed electricians and not painters or carpenters. As we were preparing for the project an employee stepped on an improperly installed ceiling patch, which promptly crashed the sheetrock through the ceiling. As this was our fault we completely planned to repair the damage at no cost to the customer - which we did. Throughout the project, we maintained contact with the customer, and while attempting to relocate the old service line, we discovered that it had been installed incorrectly and was a serious fire hazard. We took the extra time to remove and replace the old service line. The new service was placed exactly where we discussed on the side toward the back of the house as it could not be placed on the backside of the house due to the location of the overhead service line and being in a walkway. As the additional work was being completed it was discussed with the wife, who was also the homeowner and had been in on discussions the entire time. The work was completed in the time discussed and the sheetrock, all of the sheetrock, was repaired and paid for by Pro Systems. After all said and done the homeowner short paid his bill by over $800. While the charge was higher than the original quote, the additional cost was discussed with the homeowner. While I apologize that the homeowner had a bad experience, it is not our intention, nor will we ever attempt to take advantage of a customer or leave them with a bad experience. We are professionals and intend to hold to our standards of high-quality workmanship, congenial attitude, and transparency of process in all we do."
