Local Air

They came on time and replaced the unit within the said allotted time frame. They were very professional and even took time to answer some more of my questions that I had about the unit.

This is the third time I have used Local Air, upon the recommendation of a neighbor. Joey, the owner and the one who serviced my units, is extremely professional, personable, and conscientious. He patiently answered all questions I had, explaining in detail as necessary. He always put on clean shoe covers before entering the house. On one occasion in the past when I called about an odd smell coming from the vents (not long after installation of the new unit by another company), Joey came out, examined the unit, found nothing out of the ordinary and charged me nothing, saying he really didn't fix anything, just cleaned a few areas. Well, whatever he did do stopped that odd smell, and it has not resurfaced since. Joey took his time to be thorough that time and this. I never felt he was rushing through anything and appreciated the time and attention he gave to his work. Local Air will be servicing my heating and air units in the future.

The repair went very well. Additionally, Joey provided some valuable advice about my heating/AC system.

One night we lost power during a thunderstorm and when the power came back on one of my two ac units would not restart. I called Local Air the next morning and they came out that afternoon. Very quickly they determined that the starting capacitor for the compressor motor had gone bad. They had a replacement unit on their truck; replaced the old one and I was back in business. For what it is worth Local Air installed the HVAC system in my house when it was built in 2004 and the few times that I have needed service work they are the only ones I have bothered to call. They show up when they say they will and generally will call when they are about 30 minutes away. Hope this helps.

Diagnosed problem quickly. Advised that could repair a leak that would cost $500.00 or just add freon for $70.00. I decided to just add freon.They removed dirty air filter but this company does not replace air filters, This work was over two months ago and I cannot remember eveything but Angie's list ask for a review.

After a lightning storm came through my area my outside air conditioning unit would not come on. I called Local Air the next morning & due to the recent heat wave they were swamped with business. They told me they would have someone at my home by 10:00 AM the next day. Their technicain called shortly after 8:00 AM to make sure someone was at home & to tell me he was headed my way. He arrived at approximately 8:20 AM. He quickly pinpointed the problem as a bad capacitor & replaced it. He then started the unit back up & checked the freon level. It was low. He said due to EPA regulation they can no longer just add freon, but rather they would have to add a leak detecting dye & some freon & come back in a few days to check for leaks using a UV light. I am glad he did this. In the six years we have lived in this home we have had to add freon on more than one occasion, so we obviously have a very slow leak that needs to be repaired. Once they have found the leak they will repair it, which will be good for me as well as the environment. He had everything checked out & back up & running within an hour & he was at my home ahead of schedule so, I wasn't standing around all morning waiting on a repairman. Overall I couldn't ask for better service.
