LAWSON AIR CONDITIONING & PLUMBING

I needed a service call done on a Saturday morning, knowing it would be expensive but it had to be done in order to have water for the weekend. I spoke with Lawson's and they had a tech call me at home. Was called by a tech, talked through the problem on phone, and determined it was likely a PRV. He stated that it was more expensive for 'emergency' services so I asked how much per hour. The tech quoted me a price of 125$ per hour for labor. He arrived and was able to determine that the valve was the problem, had it replaced, and my bill to me within 45 minutes of arrival. The bill had the prices of the supplies and no hourly rate, please note bill was given to me after the work was done. To add insult to injury when the bill was emailed to me there was a notice that "You could have saved 68.70". Not mentioned while settling up the bill. Obviously, the joke was on me. I understand a markup on parts and the Saturday service but this was beyond gouging the consumer. What could I have done to save ten percent on my bill? I couldn't even rationally discuss the bill because I was upset. Asked the tech to leave so I wouldn't have to apologize for my behavior. I will try later to add a photo of the completed work so you can see the 'additional 5 feet' of PEX needed for the job. But whats 70$ among friends?

I use Lawson all the time for any plumbing or HVAC work. They've always been totally reliable for punctuality, quality and price. The service guy arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the issue, then resolved the problem. He also recommended signing up for an annual service check, which I should have had in the first place, and essentially wove the cost of the visit into the service plan, so I was very happy with the results.

After hours call. Contacted Lawson by phone and spoke to someone at 5:10pm. This was great as the hours listed for Lawson indicated they close at 5pm. She took my info and told me to expect a call from the after hours tech. Received a response from the oncall tech (Trent) shortly after and he arrived less than an hour later. Diagnosed outside unit in ten minutes and found a fault in the solenoid which he was able to replace on the spot. Work completed and he performed a few quick tests (since I was paying for the service call anyway to ensure no other issues. I did pay after hours rates but they were reasonable. Replacement part cost $20. Technician was professional, efficient, and checked his work and results.

The technician checked the freon levels, changed the inside filter, replaced the starting capacitor on the fan motor, and changed the power contactor. The condensor unit had been buzzing loudly and he told us the contactor was bad. He did show all the parts he had changed. The air conditioner has been working fine.

I needed 100 gallon hot water. I needed to go to 2 50 gallon hot water heaters. They came in early, clean the area, installed both tanks in about 6 hours, cleaned up everything. They changed 2 separate valves, gas and water, that had nothing to do with the install (1 gas valve for my gas fireplace and 1 water valve for an ice maker). They did this for my convenience and did not charge anything. I was very impressed with the professionalism.

2014 winter is brutal!  Had a pipe on outside spigot burst and water was spewing into my backyard and between house and vinyl siding.  Called Lawson and they had a repair man at my house in 18 minutes with water turned off shortly thereafter.  Repair took approximately an hour total.  Very courteous and professional, even showed me the correct tool to turn off my water at the street in the future and demonstrated how to do it.

My mother had been using them for over ten years. I took over the house and contract. It got to be expensive.  I don't use them anymore as they got too pricey. They were very good. The price went up every year. I am trying out another company due to price.  They were conscientious.  I used them for my heating and air. They came twice a year. They came on time. They were responsive.

Just great!   I called them in a panic as our AC died and they just had to replace a very inexpensive part.  They have a customer for life.

They have been polite, answered questions fully (I am an older woman and tradesmen often treat me like a dunce!), tried not to damage the wall more than necessary, cleaned up after themselves and were on time.  Excellent experience overall.

The first visit they made for HVAC service got confusing. It's a very old furnace with a very weird filter. I'm not sure what happened, but it turned out fine.

Holy cow!  I've never had a better experience with a service provider!  First, this company answered the phone right away, scheduled an estimate appointment only a few days out, then called ahead of time to re-confirm.  During the re-confirm call (even though the appointment was for the next day), they adapted to my new request to have the plumber actually plan to install the water heater and get the plumbing going even though I'd only originally called for an estimate.  The plumber, Todd, showed up the next morning precisely on schedule and had the entire project assessed within minutes, then plunged right in (no pun intended).  I hung around through the job, asking questions and asking for advice on various things, including non-plumbing issues, since it quickly became apparent that Todd had building experience in many different directions.  Once he hit a point in the water heater installation where the glue needed time to set, he immediately offered to help me dismantle a built-in structure that needed to come out, then once that was done, he then went above and beyond to help me figure out how to plan the reconstruction concept (including climbing around in the attic and figuring out what had to go where).   On top of all that, he was very personable: cheerful, knowledgable, funny and interesting to talk with.    

The technician was very late due to a previous job taking longer than expected.  He was very nice and willing to take his time to do the job right. The only thing that bothered me was that when I called the company because the toilet was still stopping up, the man that answered the telephone was less than professional in that he basically discounted the problem saying that it was probably something else causing the toilet to stop up. After he explained a few things to me, what he said made sense but someone less courteous as myself would have been angry at how he came across in the beginning and hung up on him, never planning to use the company again. I wouldn't say that I wouldn't use them again but I might try somoeoone else first next time I have a problem.

I've had another Heating/AC company do my annual inspections for 4 years and thought a quick 10 minute overview constituted an inspection. Cindy scheduled my appointment for the day after my initial call and was pleasant and helpful.  Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised when Scott from Lawson spent 45 minutes inspecting and cleaning my 14-year-old furnace.  The annual contract also includes a discount on any future plumbing needs.  If you live in Lawson's service area, this is the business you want to use. 

   This was my daughter's house,so "naturally" she called me about the A/C not working.    Not living in that  city  I had to find someone to check it out. This is the first time I really used Angies List.  It was very interesting to research for service. When I called up for an appointment, they very straight and said that there would be a service call charge.  i said fine and set up the time. I figured if they charge for a trip they must value their time and are not just fishing for business.  The technician came out and found that the compressor had failed.  He gave me a written estimate and how long it wold take. Several days later he came out and replace the compressor and checked out the system.  Every thing turned out fine. Thanks.  

We have had a yearly maintenance contract with Lawson's (10+ years) to inspect, clean, lubricate, etc. our heating and cooling systems twice each year. They inspect the cooling system in the spring, and the heating system in the fall (includes inspecting gas logs), change the filters and leave 1 or 2 clean filters each season. The current contract costs $125/year and includes discounted rates for any additional work/parts needed, including any plumbing services we may need. They replaced our water heater 3 years ago. The B rating for price applies to the water heater. My elderly mother accepted their choice of water heater and price without question. I thought the price was a bit high for a non-energy star rated appliance.

 Service is always prompt and completed in a professional manner. Overall, we have been very pleased with Lawson's service.

For several weeks now my heat pump had been icing up.  Not having the money to have someone come out and repair it.  I just kept turning off the unit until the ice melted and then would restart it. Well, on Friday morning my AC completely quit working.  I called Lawson Heating and Air as I have done business with them before and was very satisfied.  In this case, they said they could not come out until the following Monday.  Needless to say it was a gruesome weekend.  Anyway, Mark - the service man -  arrived exactly as plannned, 8:45am.  He went about his business very professionally.  Told me that the icing problems probably  could have been averted if I had changed the filter regularly.  Apparently, it had not been changed since Dec08.  He also noted that contactor had "burned/shorted out".  He said there was nothing that I could have done about that.  Anyway costs were:

If he had told me I needed a new system, I was prepared to spend a few more days in this overwhelming heat in order to get a couple of other opinions.  So glad I didn't have to.
Altho I don't know heating and air like I would like to.  I do trust Lawson Heating and Air and, generally speaking, they wil be the first company I call.

While I attempted to remove a splitter from my outside water faucet, I broke the end off and water came shooting out. Unable to shut off water from the street, I called Lawson Air at 530pm, and although it was late in the day, they arrived to fix my problem with in a half hour. Emory, the man from Lawson, then had to replace and weld new copper pipes in the crawl space and all was well inside an hour. If I have more plumbing issues, Lawson will be my first call.
