I was never comfortable with this company, but allowed them to continue the work at my husbands request. They were unorganized from the get-go and kept asking for advanced payments. A HUGE red flag. Fortunately, my husband refused the advances. Back to the organization issue - We signed a contract in May and the job was not completed until October. We tried to back out of the contract as no work was performed, but they kept threatening legal action. I should have known they didn't have the clout to pursue action. The original shingles I wanted were "unavailable" and we went with a "more affordable but similar" choice. Looking back, we were charged the same cost for a lesser product. We kept explaining that our chimney needed a cricket installed and the owner was insistent that it was not necessary. When the roofing team finally showed up, things had really turned sour. They were constantly rescheduling and when they did show up, they were late. In my experience, a roof of our size should have only taken about a week to complete. It took almost three...even after the materials and construction bin showed up. It was a different crew each time they did show up. They left their lunch trash in our yard, on our window sills, roof, and back porch; even though we have a big trash bin sitting next to their work trucks. They dismantled our picnic set, relocated to a different side of the yard, and never put it back together. Even after we asked once the job was complete. They ripped three window screens and dented two sills. We had to ask them to come back and pick-up the old shingles and nails! (Which we are still picking nails up a year later.) They wound-up taking one of our tarps that we had put down to catch THEIR work trash. The managed to kill a 15 year old leather leaf (a 5' evergreen shrub) by throwing roof trash on it and splitting the trunk. They trampled the front garden completely. The roof started leaking immediately. We called and the owner came out about a week later and did the repairs himself. It still leaked during the next rain. We called again, he came again. I feel the only reason he came was because we still hadn't paid him the final payment, as our closet repairs weren't complete. Upon striking up a conversation with the closet man, we found out he was on contract. Also, the owners owed him several months worth of back pay and said our job was the last he was doing for Eagle RR. At least this man was nice and on time. He did a good job! The roof was fine, until this past spring. It started leaking again! The back porch didn't begin leaking right away. But once it did, it was too late. It turns out they didn't use flashing and used the wrong nails. Now the wood is splitting and molding. We have tried to contact this company on the multiple phone numbers and all have been disconnected. My husband and I did some sleuthing and discovered they run quite a scam! They have been prosecuted for fraud on multiple occasions as well as histories of arrests relating to DUI, DWI, and disorderly conduct. Both of the wives/girlfriends use different last names depending on what city they are currently residing. Last names include Bowers and Harakas. First are Misti and Ashley. They take turns as to who's the owner as well. After a lengthy conversation with our insurance agent, we have decided to pursue legal action and are in the current process of requesting a bench warrant.
Description of Work: This company was hired to repair our roof and reconstruct a coat closet. A year later, our roof still leaks and this group of four is MIA. PLEASE - Do not use this company! It is a father and son team and their wives.
