Had several other estimates 6 months prior then I stumbled upon Milton and am very pleased I did. Milton was very laid back and true to his word. When we were able to start our project I contacted Milton gave him the green light and within days he started and was finished much earlier than I thought he would be. The hole project took less than a week from draining to filling. His employees definitely showed pride in there work and my pool looks great. When they left each day the work area was clean and secured. I was not able to be there when the actual plastering was done and Milton did something I have never had another contractor do, he texted me pictures and a video of work in progress all they way to filling the pool, a neat idea. When Milton first came to the house to give the quote, we began talking about the pool and determined he and his crew was the subcontractor 14 years earlier and actually found him and another worker in our pictures from 14 years ago. I would definitely use his services again, hopefully in another 14 years or so.
Milton's crew was very patient in waiting for the right weather conditions to perform each stage of the job in the proper sequence, and to allow adequate time between these stages for drying, curing, etc... The results met and exceeded our expectations. Our pool and deck essentially look brand new, and the upgrade to the pebble finish not only looks better than the previous white plaster finish, it's also easier to maintain.
We have a salt chlorinated pool, and the job was completed following the end of the swim season (October), so Milton's advice of maintaining the PH and Chlorine chemically (we used extra-strength Clorox and Arm and Hammer Baking soda from Costco and Muratic Acid from Home Depot) while the plaster cured over the winter provided us with an economical and successful result. The salt chlorination reaction process diminishes as the water temperature cools in the fall, so it made no sense load up the salt and run the cell over the winter anyway. Following online advice from pool forums, we only brushed the finish regularly during the first month or so to ensure a smooth pebble/plaster surface as the plaster cured. The other key to a solid cure, as emphasized by Milton, is to maintain the PH below 8.0 at all times.
Now that the swim season has begun, we've added the salt and reactivated the salt cell and our Kreepy Cruiser pool cleaner. Due to the professional rounding around the steps, the Kreepy no longer gets stuck there, and even when the Kreepy gets clogged and stays in one place for hours, it leaves no ring of loosened plaster or pebbles in those locations. I've seen plenty of pictures online of other pebbled pools that didn't cure properly, and left very prominent rings where the pool cleaners were stuck.
We consider ourselves to be fairly demanding and vigilant consumers, and would be quick to point out any deficiencies in materials or workmanship, or any lack of professionalism in the delivery or terms of services. We experienced none of these issues with Milton's Pool Plaster, and stand ready to serve as solid reference.
Their service was great and their pricing was very good when it priced it out to other providers. I generally deal with Mr. Milton who is the owner of the company and he takes me over to see other pools which he has done so I could actually see a pool. After he did my pool several people had come several miles just to look at my pool. He is very hands on and supervises everything himself. They perform good work and I have recommended them to several people.
