EXCELLENT ADVICE

VERY happy with our experience. We had a blinking "D" drive gear light, a "check transmission" light, and a "check engine" light all at once. Took it to Shift Works and they diagnosed it as a minor issue that did not need immediate attention, reset the code, and sent us on our way.....with NO CHARGE!!!
Outstanding service, super friendly people, ethical, fair, customer oriented.......they could teach a master class on how to run a car repair shop!!

I got them off of Angie's List. They were very good and they did a really good job. They were pretty straightforward. I felt really comfortable with them so I would definitely recommend them. It is not that far from Newman to Fayetteville so if there is anybody in Newman who is looking for somebody working on auto transmissions, I would recommend them. Their professionalism was great. They were easy to talk to on the phone. I had a lot of questions and I do not know that much about transmissions but they kind of walked me through it. I was worried that my son had let the transmission fluid go too long but they looked at it and said, "No, looking at the fluid and everything, we think that it would be okay to go ahead and change it and put a new filter in." They did that and the transmission has been fine for nearly a year. So, they knew what they were talking about.

2003 Acura transmission shifted or did not in 3dr and 4th gear.  Shift Works rebuilt/replaced the shifter paddles for those gears.  Representative was courteous and knowledgeable.  They measured or read the OBD-II sensor readings while I drove.  Thus determinimg the specific gear problem areas prior to overhauling the transmission,

What I like about them is that they tell you exactly what is going on and they do not do anything unless they explain it to you. If they find a problem, they will call you down to come look at it. They will show you exactly what is going on and they will explain it to you. Their pricing is good. They also give you warranty. Everything is good about them.

They work strictly on transmissions, axles and drives. I had no problems with them at all. They are very forthcoming and polite. I had a couple of codes on my computer so they looked them up and told me what they were. That's what I liked about it; they were forthcoming. They had a teacher mentality and were more into education than anything else. They are honest and don't try to upsell me; I was impressed with that. I liked the entire atmosphere of the place.

Transmission was slipping btwn 1st and 2nd gear.  After research it appears that this is a common issue with this year of Hondas.  No way was I going to the dealership for this type of work.  Jeff was helpful in confirming my diagnosis and describing the work that needed to be done.   There was no sense of urgency for me, I could still drive the car.  It was just annoying and was just getting worse by the day.  Jeff allowed me to call back with questions as I often as I liked.   They were able to do the work in two days and the car shifts perfectly now.  I like the nationwide warranty offered by their membership to the ATRA (Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association)  If I ever have another transmission that needs work, I will take it to these guys without a doubt.

I took my vehicle to Shift Works  for service after having been told by an Chevrolet Dealership service center that my auto neededa transmission replacement or rebuilding. The dealership offered three options. After receiving the estimate from Shift Works it was evident that, including the warranty, the price offered by Shift Works was a better value than anything that was offered by the dealership, where I had taken my car for service since I've owned it.. I checked out the service center on Angie's List .com.
I left my car with Shift Works on a Tuesday, rented a car for travel to Louisiana and when I returned my car was ready the day after my return. I have not had any problems with the transmission since the service. I was really impressed by the management of shift works who told me that the service they provided was not any different whether I purchased an extended warranty or not. I opted for the 70,000 mile warranty because the warranty was at such a reasonable price. The price listed above included the warranty and a Angie's List 10% discount and taxes.

My daughter was moving from Minnesota to Florida, just out
of college and she stopped in Fayetteville to spend Christmas with us
I changed oil in her car when I discovered a transmission fluid leak. We
contacted Jeff at Shift Works and we explained the problem and he knew immediately
what the problem was and said it was a known defect on this car. We dropped off
the car in the morning and it was ready by noon. He had replaced a small
plastic vent which clogs and collapses causing the fluid to leak around the vent. 
We asked how much the bill was and he said "Merry Christmas" No charge.
My daughter was elated, just out of college and no job and short
of cash, what a kind unselfish gesture full of Christmas spirit.

I wanted to get my car looked at for transmission issues.  They found nothing wrong and did not charge for the service.  I would go back to them as needed.  They were friendly and professional.

They were very professional. The got the transmission fixed in a couple of days. They were a lot cheaper than another place I had gone to; it was about half-price.

Everything was pretty good.  They fixed it and worked with me well.  Did a good job communicating with me and didn't do anything without my consent.  They were done way before it was supposed to be.

Would highly reccommend them
