IDEAL ROOFING & SIDING INC

After a tree fell on our garage, we received several bids and went with Ideal Roofing. From that point on, after they received half of the money down, communication was lousy. They were supposed to repair and replace where necessary all of the torn and broken wood, including trusses, then re-roof the garage. They sent in a repair man who started patching. We felt that we had to constantly supervise the work, even pointing out missed areas that needed repaired and insisting that crushed and splintered wood be replaced, not patched. After much arguing , Ideal finally ordered engineered trusses. After installing them (badly spaced out) they installed new roof decking and began shingling. What a nightmare! The first installation magnified the large "dip" their carpentry work left in the roof. Made them rip that off and "fix" the dip, after much arguing. Then they began shingling again. This time, the tabs were extremely crooked. When we pointed this out to the foreman, he argued with us, insulting my wife with personal comments, and swearing that the tabs did not have to be lined up! We insisted that they stop until the owner could come to our property to see the work. He was not pleased, but couldn't seem to get the men to fix the "dip" any better (it is still obvious years later when you look at our roof) but did manage to have them rip off the crooked shingles and replace them correctly. The job took weeks longer than it should have, but more than that, dealing with the poor attitudes of the workers made the job extremely stressful. Don't use these roofers unless you like sleepless nights and lots of worry.
